El Vaquero Mexican Taqueria — Restaurant in Medford

Delicious, well prepared food. We loved it and are so glad we tried it, and so, will be back to try more of what's on the menu. We got the Chicken Asada Torta & Birria Taco. Both terrific, refreshing, hearty enough portions. The Chicken Torta-- comes with Oaxacan cheese, refried beans, pickled onions, lettuce, tomato & marinated chicken & a mild cream sauce. All those flavors were great together, I especially liked the bun it came on-it's sturdy enough to not get soggy yet soft enough to easily eat. It's one really great sub/sandwich style meal and came with fries. Loved it, would reccomend 100%. The Birria Tacos-- were truly wonderful. They're soft tortillas, delicate steak, grilled up well and filled up the taco shells a good amount. The flavor is really what you need to try these for...gentle, savory & awesome!

I especially love the flavors this restaurant creates, they definitely don't just shove a ton of onion flavor at you like a lot of places do. You don't leave here with onion breath for the next 24 hrs-that is much appreciated. 100 % recommend this place. We will be back to try more! And tontry some of those great looking...

The food was excellent, which was the first word I had instantly said after having the first bite. I can say it was worth the 30 minute drive and would do it again. The service, food and atmosphere of the restaurant was great. The hostess who took my order was polite and helpful. The restaurant is small and you are able to see the cooks preparing the food with so much care and delicacy. The only issue was the location as it is connected with other small businesses in a road with on going non stop traffic. Fortunately, I went on a Sunday and was able to find a parking spot in front of the restaurant any other day it would have been a pain to find parking. I ordered the carne asada and the meat was tender. The meal also included rice and beans which was very tasty. I also tried a small piece of their tres leche cake which was soft, moist and melts right in your mouth. I recommend giving this place a try if you are in the Medford...

Taco Tuesday: All tacos for $2.99.

The place: small. Can host 2 groups of 4 and a couple of more people.

Service: Excellent. All were smiling and prompt and made the food right after the order goes in and that too in front of you.

Food: Delish. Had the lamb and the grilled chicken tacos. The lamb didnt lose its taste which was awesome as many places they try to hide it. The chicken was grilled yet it didnt lose its juice.

This reminded me of all those tasty eats i have had in the west or small taquerias.

Ask them for the Spicy mayo and the jalepeno green sauce. I expected more heat but didnt get much.

One flip side: The price. At $4.5 I do not expect to get the tacos coming out of "Mission Street taco" packets. Its at par with BarTaco however less footfall and the rents might keep it high. I would expect at least more options like masa? or atleast try to make them fresh?
