I’m really surprised at the high ratings this restaurant has received. I went there on a Sunday morning, arriving at 10 AM and immediately sat in an open booth. The waitress, who was somewhat mechanical, took our drink order and brought them right away. She also took our food order at about 11:10 AM. Once again, let me repeat, the restaurant was not full. Our food arrived. 50 minutes later. Without comment or apology we both ordered fruit cups, which with the exception of the blueberries were well past their sell date. I had poached eggs on toast, and the poached eggs were very undercooked. I also ordered ham, which did not taste right. my fiancé had waffles with fruit, ham and potatoes she also left most of her ham because of the odd taste, the potatoes were nothing more than frozen potatoes heated, and the waffle was undercooked and soggy inside. we both left well over 90% of our food without any question from the waitress about why we didn’t eat the predominance of our breakfast. so in essence, we paid over $50 for 4 cups of coffee, which got me through the wait. And 2 glasses of OJ, which got her through the wait. On the way home we stopped at Burger King and for $10 actually got something to eat. also as a very large FYI, especially if you are drinking during the wait for your order, there is no restroom. since it’s not posted, or at least to what I saw, it’s another unpleasant surprise. This is an...
Read morePaul Revere is a charming greasy spoon diner. Don’t come expecting a whole lot of cool brunch options. Do come expecting some combination of eggs and toast and home fries (and if you eat meat, bacon or something). And endless black coffee.
The TV is always on (unfortunately) and there are just enough folks around every day to make it feel homey. But it’s never so crowded that you can’t get a refill on your coffee.
The food is delicious and rib-sticking and it comes out quickly. That’s pretty much the definition of a good diner, right?
I do wish they had a few more veggie options, a cleaner bathroom, and a coat rack, but whatever, it’s a solid place for breakfast. Go there and try it. If you don’t like it, you’re either a vegan (no options at this place, unfortunately), or you should never go...
Read moreI was staying in Medford with a group of friends this past weekend, and we noticed a little hole-in-the-wall breakfast joint while walking back to our Airbnb one night. We're all from New Hampshire, so we know that hole-in-the-wall places are usually the best places. We weren't wrong with this place. It has a very relaxed, almost diner-like feel to it. The antique look was also a nice touch. The waitresses were very friendly as well, and made us feel welcome. The food was inexpensive, and delicious. The only thing to keep in mind is that this place is a bit small. Then again, I was part of a group of 5-6 big dudes, so that comes into play. If you're visiting the area like I was, or a local who lives under a rock, and you need an everyday breakfast place, Paul Revere Restaurant is about the...
