Draft options were all IPAs. Cocktails attempted to be creative and a little hipster, but didn't quite hit the mark. They were OK in flavor, but I definitely wouldn't put forth any special effort in coming here for the drinks.
The same can be said about the food. I had the poutine fries and brussel sprouts. The fries had something oily drizzled on them, but not gravy. The gargonzola pieces were far too strong and overpowering. The brussel sprouts were tender, but again, very oily. Hazelnuts on top were an interesting addition, but as they weren't blended with any kind of sauce- they mostly fell off and were awkward. Both the fries and the sprouts had loads of diced scallions which was overpowering. It all sat very heavily with me and I ended up feeling like I was going to throw up for a while.
My friend had the snappy patty burgers. They were average burgers. She liked that they are slider sized and you can pick a variety of options. They're served on white sourdough(?) bread, not buns and looked a little dry. She said they were fine, but again, nothing sensational.
Long waits for limited patio area seating, so we sat at the bar. Bartender was good initially, but when things got busy, he struggled to be attentive. He started to run food from the kitchen at one point, resulting in us having to wait 15 mins for him to run our cards after he gave us the bill. I think he forgot about us completely as he cashed out people sitting next to us immediately and I had to make a point of getting his attention, though he was right in front of us.
Music choices were weird and music was loud. Only plus to this place is that it's walking distance from my friend's house. This will be a hard pass from me going forward. Much better options just a short drive away. I'm disappointed bc I wanted it to be our...
Read moreA nice place and nice staff but we had relatively poor service.
There were 10 of us and we never really saw the waiter after our initial order. We would have done another round (or two) of drinks. It was also not busy... There was one other small group behind us and a few patrons at the bar.
Also... One of my friends who I will apologize for because he did in fact swear when he complained we were being charged for something he had sent back. He ordered poutine but got a basket of soggy fries with the tiniest sprinkle of sprinkle cheese sized cheese bits. The server came back and told him that the chef was arguing that he got what he ordered. I think I overheard the manager ask my friend not to come back because he "swore at our server". Well as my friend said he did swear but not directed at anybody.
My friend might have been totally wrong but it's a simple enough thing, my feeling is that the restaurant should have tried to appease us in this situation and not force us to ask to have the poutine removed from the bill and then to have to ask again to speak to a manager in order to actually get it taken off. If it gets to the point that someone (right or wrong) is swearing in your restaurant then you have probably failed in some way.
Also, not a huge deal but the drinks while well mixed, came in tiny glasses, $8-9 for less than a juice box worth of drink is kind of lame.
I was very happy with the sliders I ordered but would not come back for the drinks or service. I wish the business the best of luck and hope you guys iron out whatever wrinkles in your business need to...
Read moreI made an order on Grubhub for Chicken and waffles and choose the contact-free delivery option. The delivery driver texted me he's here. I responded to leave the food at the front door, as I chose the contact free delivery option. I went outside 2 mins later and said I don't see the food (I checked my back door too), and he re-iterates my address and I am confirmed it but said there's no food on my front porch. (FYI, I live in a safe area and never experienced theft by neighbors, so I know it's not them) He said he left it at my front porch and then accused me of lying about not receiving the food so I don't pay for it. Obviously, I was offended my this and responded (per the texts) below. He then said "I knew you would cancel" even though I said don't respond, he only stopped when I told him I would file a harassment order if he doesn't stop texting me. This is very unprofessional and a bad reflection on the restaurant for their delivery person to accuse me of stealing, really ridiculous since I use GH all the time and never had this issue, and would never steal food that I am capable of paying for, a mere $17 for food. I will never purchase anything from this restaurant and hopes the delivery driver gets fired!
Update: The owner responded they have nothing to do with this even though it's their delivery driver. And to be condescending and tell me to stay in school, inferring I am uneducated, what a classy act from a business. Definitely won't remove my review and will tell everyone I know to beware of this business; clearly it's operated...
