A Third Place Coffee & Books — Restaurant in Medina

Stop! Whatever you are doing, you need to stop and read this review OR better yet, stop reading and just go to third place coffee and books. Oh my gosh, I can’t even explain how incredible this place was! From the moment we walked in I knew it was special. From the green walls to the almost antique looking furniture, the vibes were just perfect. I felt like I had just walked into a shop run by the great Gatsby or a music video by Taylor Swift. As I looked over the books I was mesmerized by their selection (even spending about 10 minutes reading “magnificent cats”) then after a visit to the incredibly cool and incredibly purple bathroom, I went up to the counter to order. The person who took my order could be described as very patient with just a hint of mischief, allowing me all the time I needed to order (as a very indecisive person, this was a big W) and offering advise concerning health benefits and her own recommendations. Once she saw that I couldn’t decide which cookie I wanted she said “I’ll just throw in the other one and you can tell me how it is.” This was super sweet and kind but I wouldn’t expect them to do that for everyone because I am an exceptionally attractive person so I had an advantage (jk, lol.) As I was here with my semi-professional singing group I decided it would it would behoove us to ask for permission before we randomly broke out into song in her establishment. Her response was “um, absolutely, I was actually considering asking if y’all were gonna sing for us” which is just the best thing to hear as a group of singers (not that we often sing at unwilling audiences but they’re not always eager either… 😅) After we sang for them and I received my food and drink, we left and I tried my golden dragon latte and cookies and OH MY GOODNESS that was actually the best coffee shop stuff I’ve ever tasted. Not only were all of their drink options incredibly creative, unique, and well named, but they tasted spectacular. If you are ever within a 100 mile radius of this place, you need to hit it up. I’m absolutely livid that I live in Ohio because it’s going to suck to drive 12 hours to get coffee but you gotta do what...

An amazing and unique coffee and book shop experience! This is unlike anything else in the greater Jackson TN area. The decor choices are cozy, thrifted, and eclectic that gives it that set of “Friends” atmosphere. In addition to books, there is art, jewelry and pottery made by local artisans for sale. I picked up 2 highly recommended books and quite possibly the cutest mug ever made for my morning coffee. While there, my husband and I each tried the cold brew, a chocolate chip cookie, and shared the Dr. Dragon- an iced drink with espresso and Dr. Pepper. I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this place. They’ve created an atmosphere that does exactly what the name suggests- becomes your third place. I’ve found friends, community, books and peace here. From great food to fantastic books, they have it all. I’m so glad they’re here and that I’ve finally found my go to hangout spot.
