First Watch — Restaurant in Medina

Terrible experience! Walked into a basically empty restaurant around 12;30 PM and were seated almost immediately. Then we waited for almost 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us or ask us for our drink order. When the first waitress finally arrived, she asked for our order. When we told her our drink order, we were rushed into making a full order right away. Another waitress brought our drinks to the table. She sat down a glass for my water and it seemed to be dirty and I asked her if it had some kind of residue. She cut me off and grabbed the glass putting her finger inside the rim where I would be drinking from, sat the glass down and said it was just scratched from their cleaning it. I asked her politely to bring me another glass because I didn’t want to drink from a glass once she had put her finger inside it. Fairly quickly our food was delivered and as soon as the waitress sat it down, she immediately brought us the check. We were not checked on or asked if we needed anything the rest of our visit. After finishing most of our meal, we waited for a waitress to arrive so that we could get a box for my leftovers. Neither waitress ever bothered to approach us though they walked past us several times. I finally went up to pay over $40 for food I wasn’t even able to finish. Another waitress came up to take my payment and we discussed their service. I was then asked to wait for the manager. After telling him of our experience he offered me insincere platitudes and wanted to give me my leftovers that had already been left behind for anyone to touch and nothing more. I truly enjoy the food and have been at this location several times with excellent service. However if this is what my experience will be like in the future, I find it unlikely that I will be returning...

A lovely experience at First Watch Medina this morning with my family. Our server Melissa was perfect - attentive but not overbearing. Food came out quickly and was delicious! I had the Works omelet, my wife had the BLT Benedict, our daughter the Farmhouse Hash and our little guy had the Choc Chip Pancake. All of our food was fresh and tasted great. I ordered a Hot Chocolate at the beginning of the meal and it was not good, really just tasted like hot water with whipped cream. When I notified Melissa she immediately apologized and brought me another steaming hot mug that was perfect. My wife enjoyed the Purple Haze and our daughter loved the Kale Tonic. Our son (age 5) was not a fan of the orange juice, I think because it was fresh squeezed and tasted like it. The rest of us agreed that it was yummy. Maybe stick to apple or cranberry for picky eaters LOL.

We arrived about 9:15 on a Saturday morning and they were pretty busy. I highly recommend using the "Join the Waitlist" link on their website. They were quoting a 15-20 min wait online, so I just put us on the list when we left the house. We arrived, checked in, and were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Really nice feature. Can't wait to return and enjoy First Watch again now that it's conveniently...

Your glassware STINKS! We had to ask for a second set of water glasses because they smelled like swamp water/dirty rag and the second set of glasses smelled the same. They were small juice glasses and they came from behind the bar. I saw other patrons around me with normal size water glasses with ice in them even - why did so many people around me get ice water in appropriate sized glasses will I was given stinky tiny glassware? It was so gross I felt uncomfortable ordering and eating food but my partner loves First Watch so I tried to play along. I ordered a cereal milk cocktail. It was watery and pre made. The glass bottle it was served in had a dirty cap. The walls next to the table we sat at had brown blobs on them like customers were wiping their fingers on the wall. I ordered biscuits and gravy. Gravy was watery and bland, biscuits were hard, dense, and dark on the bottom. The larger potatoes were undercooked, not fork tender. I did not finish my meal. Prices were high for food I found unpleasant and a drink I did not finish - I gave it to my partner. He was surprised when I told him it was alcoholic. One would never know based on the way it tasted. Service was fine. Building is loud and echoes a lot. I have no interest...
