Super good feels like home and here is an essay to help you write a good review.
A great restaurant review can point you toward your new favorite spotâor help you avoid a dining disaster. Review sites like Yelp and TripAdvisor have an abundance of restaurant reviews to browse, but if you spend any time on these sites youâll notice not all reviews are helpful.
Some reviews are positive, but are so vague that you question their legitimacy. Some might have helpful information, but are so poorly written theyâre unintelligible. And other submissions read more like a personal rant than a restaurant review.
Think youâre ready to share your own two cents? Donât let your review fade into the background of mediocrity! In todayâs post weâre sharing how to write a restaurant review thatâs captivating, memorable, and useful for your fellow diners.
Hereâs a tip: Want to make sure your writing always looks great? Grammarly can save you from misspellings, grammatical and punctuation mistakes, and other writing issues on all your favorite websites. Your writing, at its best. Be the best writer in the office. GET GRAMMARLY Hereâs How to Structure a Memorable Restaurant Review
1 Set the Stage Let readers know immediately that the review contains useful information and is worth reading. Open the review with an enticing line that promises an interesting payoff (whether delicious or dreadful).
Next, share some context. Why did you decide to try this particular restaurant? What time of day did you go? What size was your party? How did the waitstaff treat you? What was the ambiance like?
It may look like your average neighborhood pizza joint, but Acme Pizza is anything but! I wandered in with two friends on a Friday night, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of baking pizza. The restaurant was filling up quickly (it was almost 7:00 pm) but we managed to snag a table.
2 Deliver the Main Course How was the food? If a dish was âgreat,â be sure to describe why. What were the flavors, textures, and appearance like? Carefully select a few punchy adjectives for your descriptionsâtoo few will leave your writing bland, too many will bog it down.
We ordered the garlic knots and two medium pies to share: the XX (pesto, artichoke, red onion, bacon, feta, mozzarella) and the XY (marinara, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mozzarella). The garlic knots were little bombs of buttery, yeasty goodness, and the garlic was robust but not overpowering. When our pizzas arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded.
The crust was crisp, flavorful, and chewy. The toppings worked together beautifully. The marinara and pesto were packed with flavor, and the mozarella had a great consistency and very little oil. By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit.
3 Wrap Up the Takeaway End with a punchy summary of why you think other diners should (or shouldnât) visit the restaurant.
Donât let appearances fool youâthe decor may be divey, but the pies are fantastic. This place is perfect for groups or a casual date night. 5 Essential Tips for Writing a Memorable Restaurant Review
Now that you know the basics, follow these tips to ensure your reviews are always captivating!
1 Take Notes (and Pictures!) To write a vibrant review, youâll want to capture your thoughts and experiences while theyâre still fresh. Use your smartphone or notebook during the meal to jot down highlights and subtler details (e.g., the wait staff was welcoming and attentive, you enjoyed the agricole rum in your cocktail, the tiramisu was soggy and...
Read moreCame in from Nampa for lunch and a beer. It was around noon. We were hot, thirsty and starving LOL.
The service was exceptionally slow. There were 2 other people at the bar & the 4 of us. 6 total. We sat at the table next to the bar for about 10 or so minutes. The bartender hadn't even greeted us. When we walked in I said hello to her & the 2 bellies at the bar) After ten minutes or more, I finally walked up to the bar. She didn't even acknowledge me. Did I say that there were only 2 bellies at the bar? She was standing right there. I blurted out that we wanted to order food n bevvys. That's when she informed us that the menu was up on the wall. I'm thinking.... she should have just said that when we walked in. "If you are plan on ordering lunch, the menu is up on the wall" She still never even asked if we wanted any drinks. đ We walked up to wall n checked out the menu. About 15 minutes later.... Maybe longer, She still hadn't even came up to us to ask what we wanted to order. I walked back up to the bar & stood there for a bit. Just me & the 2 bellies. đ She never even looked my way, I was 3 feet from her. I have NO problem being patient but plz, acknowledge me!! Just a simple "I'll be there in a minute" would be fantastic. đ Anyways. While wondering if she can see me standing in front of her, I said aloud: "When u get a minute, we would like to order food & drinks." It took a few minutes after that before she finally came over & took our order.
I order the finger steaks, (which I always do when we come to town.) They were good. đđť I also ordered 2 orders of fried mushrooms. đđźđđź They were straight aweful!! 𤢠They looked decent sized til we took a bite. They were 95% crust with an itty bitty mushroom which was a tad smaller than the size of a dime. đ¤Śđźââď¸ Still trying to figure out how the mushrooms had so much air between them & the crust? How'd they do that? Lol. The crusts tasted burnt! Between 4 of us, we ate less than half. The only way to eat them was to pick the crust off & pick out the itty bitty mushrooms.
My buddy & my 2 sisters ordered the burger n fries. They all said that the burgers were good.
Minus the burnt "air mushrooms," Our meals were good. (My "ââ" rating is for the food) The service was a zero)
The older gal who was our server seemed nice once she came n brought our orders. I'd kindly suggest that she learns some customer service. She wasn't friendly at all. But she wasn't rude either. đ I've been coming out to Cooks for over 25+ years. It's always my "go to" when we are in the area. Hoping the next time we are in town, our...
Read moreTERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE We were told by family and locals this place was amazing. Upon arriving my husband asked the waitress how she was and she was instantly rude.. We sat there for over an hour and the cook hadnât even started our food.. the two workers were talking about how they didnât even wanna work or cook. My husband got up after an hour and 20 minutes asked how much longer, the girl said itâs coming, he nicely asked how long she looked in the kitchen and the cook had NOTHING out too cook yet. She then rolled her eyes and said 20/25 more minutes. My husband asked to just pay for drinks and the ladies were very rude to him and wanted to argue about how we should wait longer.. the cooks excuse was she couldnât find the food too cook⌠what a joke.. if you donât wanna lose service you may need to get nicer employees who...
