Alfredoâs has been closed since I moved to Melrose and Iâve now gotten a chance to visit twice (my usual Melrose spot is Lisaâs on West Wyoming). Quality: Much better than Lisaâs hands down! Service: Awful. Each time I arrived for my pick up orders I was greeted rudely, once by who I think is the owner, and the other time by some young man, possibly the ownerâs son. My second visit was tonight around 6:30. Obviously a busy time at a pizza place. My orderâs not ready when I arrived at the designated time, no problem, to be expected. I wait a little over 10 minutes. A man who was there when I got there had just gone up to the counter to ask for an update on his order, heâs told 5-10 minutes. A moment later I approach the counter and ask the same question, the young man checks and itâs still not ready. I ask for an estimate, he says "itâs hard to say, itâs in the oven," and then says âI donât work in the kitchen.â And yet mere moments ago you gave another customer an estimate. I wait another 5 minutes and my order is ready. Off I go and I wonât be coming back. Again, I do think their quality is better but such BAD vibes there. You go into Lisaâs and they ALWAYS greet you warmly and are not bothered if you ask for an estimate. Another good spot in town, Theoâs, I would say has the same quality as Alfredoâs, and again, much, much more pleasant staff. The world is chaotic enough as it is right now, itâs just not worth it to me to support a business that canât even master the basics (and to boot, it's so unpleasant to wait 15 minutes in there because the TV is on so.loud.). Another reviewer noted a rude, overreaction by a staff member when placing a phone order. Rudeness is...
Read moreSo, my family orders from this place pretty consistently now, due to how good the food is, and I'm shocked, that today(9/16/16) at 3:20pm, when we called in we were treated so rudely by the guy answering the phone. He just kept saying Hello as we asked him questions, never once said the restaurants name, Thankfully the number was saved in my phone and I knew it was the right one from previous experiences. Fought with us as we gave our address, having to count out the numbers for our address, and spell out our street name, because he refused to listen, and it was just an overall struggle with placing the order. The food is wonderful, and we have never had an issue before today with service there, so I don't want to discredit the whole restaurant over this one individual, but I found it very rude how he treated us, and just made the calling process more of a hassle then...
Read moreNot sure if they changed owners recently but this was my second order from Alfredoâs and it was severely disappointing as compared to my first order (admittedly it has been a while).
Veggie burger was literally just a heated pattie in between two pieces of bread. No lettuce. No tomatoes. No sauce. No Nothing. For $12 youâd expect a little more effort. Fries were Krinkle cut and were nothing special. Onion rings were way over cooked and nearly burnt.
Fried chicken was also way over cooked to the point where the outside was separated from the inside, which was dry. Same boring fries and over cooked onion rings. I feel like this dish would have been good had it not been so obviously left in the fryer too long. Not worth $14 in the least.
I likely wonât order from here again. Very sad...
