Bohemian Coffeehouse — Restaurant in Melrose

I called asking abt the pistachio vegan scones I'd seen in FB. I spoke to Hillary and she told me she may baked some the next day. She asked my name and asked me to call tomorrow to confirm that she baked them since that was my preference. I called the next day and the person said there was pistachio rose scones. I came in and asked and there were 4 left. I ordered 2 and a lady popped out from the kitchen. I asked her if she is Hillary and she confirmed. She asked me my name and I said we spoke yesterday. She said she was concerned about who was ordering 2 bc she remembered my call the previous day. Her and her staff are very nice and that scone is awesome!! I love pistachios so her scone exceeded my expectations!! It was my first time and I am glad I found out about her shop. I will return and recommend...

We love the Bohemian! This is a small shop near a small park and is not meant for sitting in unless it is late on a quiet day. Otherwise its usually packed with people who pick up their goodies to go enjoy them somewhere else, and rightly so. Always a large variety of baked items, amazing breakfast sandwiches, creatively themed coffee drinks and simply the best muffins anywhere. The owner, Hillary, and her staff are always friendly. I saw one review complain about being rushed, and I get the feeling that reviewer was taking their sweet time while eight people were waiting behind them. Do what normal people do- stand to the side and look at what they offer before you step up to order.

Are they cheap? No. Go to Dunkin' if you want cheap instead of amazing and worth the entirely...

The Bohemian Coffeehouse simply has the best muffins that I've ever tasted, ever. From the classic blueberry, to the mouth-watering banana chocolate and snappy cranberry orange - I have never been disappointed! The coffee is fantastic. Probably my favorite besides Starbucks or the Boston Common Coffee Co. The shop is small and quaint and it really has become a neighborhood institution. We don't even live in the neighborhood but we feel very much part of the Bohemian community because of the culture of kindness and friendliness the the owner has instilled with her staff. If you are ever in Melrose and looking for coffee and something sweet like a muffin, do yourself a favor...
