Bruegger's Bagels — Restaurant in Melrose

I have always liked Brueggers. I liked the fresh bagels, the coffee was very good. I was sad when Brueggers closed down to upgrade to Jamba nice bar. I was excited to find they finally opened. My first visit was less than perfect. The wait for service was longer, the coffee was different and frankly not to my taste. Now the coffee is served from urns against the break wall. Subsequent visits have not improved. The service is TERRIBLE. The juice bar is overpriced. The coffee is not good. My previous 4 visits since their reopening have not improved. Today was final straw. Woman in front of me was having trouble getting her order, she had run out of time. I placed my order for bagels juice and coffee. The coffee urn was empty, so I informed the servers. So I returned to my table to wait for the rest of my order. Within 10 minutes, I had my juice and bagels, but after 3 trips to the urn, still no coffee. My wife and I finished our bagels. Still no coffee. So I went to register to complain and get refund. While I was waiting one of the staff deliberately avoided trying to help, and really looked uncomfortable as she tried to get someone else to deal with me. Finally the Asst. Manager came to register. She almost didn't help me, but I told her I was there for a refund and she would not help take an order before she dealt with me. I was told the coffee had been replaced, which was true. I saw her do it while I was waiting to be helped at register. Too little, much too late. I like Brueggers, but I will not dine there again. I go to this location multiple times a week. The smoothies are always a hit or miss and with the review below I can see I’m not the only one. Sometimes they’re amazing and I love going to see some of workers, particularly the two male employees who make my smoothies, they’re hands down the best and always provide awesome service. I’ve even tipped them individually, I wish they wore name tags so I could put them here. Ones a teenager who is always great and then an older male whose also always friendly. However, recently many of the other workers have made very little effort to make the classic smoothies we request. They’re often NOT blended completely and taste horrible and I’m so confused as to how they could be so much different than what the boys make me. I would really consider having them help train your other workers so there could be some consistency within the store. Went in just to try it out since I have never been there before. The place is clean & well kept. The smoothies I got were not bad pretty decent. Now my biggest problem was one of the staff at the register I don’t know her name but she didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. The other 2 were helpful but that one lady at the register had her phone in her hand talking while working now I didn’t care for that much, but what did get to me was when I asked for a jalapeño bagel that looked interesting she turns to me & said sorry we don’t have any , mind you I was looking right at them about like 6 of them in the basket.
