Ernie's is my favorite diner, bar none. Indeed, the day that we looked at the house we now live in, my wife and I went to Ernie's for lunch to talk over whether we were interested in buying the place. The fact that this place was nearby helped us decide to buy -- we liked the people working there, and the regulars, so much that we figured this was a neighborhood we'd be happy in.
It's not open nearly enough -- only Wednesday through Saturday -- but the food's as good, or better than, any other I've been to, and it's among the cheapest places I regularly go, too.

The food is just like - well -fine but not something I can say I crave again. I cook breakfast often at home - pancakes, bacon, eggs and french toast - and this is really the very same thing. I guess when I go out I expect things to be a notch or two better and decadent. My wife and I both got a full breakfast and a side of bacon and pancakes for only 28 bucks. It would have been roughly 40+ anywhere else. Food was fantastic as well!
And the service was even better than the food if you can imagine that!
Atmosphere may not be up your alley, it's an older spot and looks like such but once you walk in you'll either smile and sit down and have a great breakfast with incredible service, or you'll miss out lol
Either way Ernie's has become me and my wife's new favorite spot for breakfast (when we're lazy lol)...
