Focuz Lounge — Restaurant in Memphis

I’ve been going here a while but last night was a different experience. Typically when I go here I wear a plain black or plain white tshirt. Last night I was denied entry to a place I frequently visit because a security profiled me. I was told people that wear plain shirts with nothing on them typically start fights and commotion. After reassuring him that I come here all the time he still denied me entry. I even told him and showed him that I was an officer myself and that I’m not the average person. I had to leave go buy a shirt leaving all of my friends and family there. When I arrived back the security guard made a comment stating, “we tell young folks to change and they do it these folks just want to argue about nothing.” I ignored the unprofessionalism and continued on inside, when walking in I immediately seen a sign on the wall with the rules on the very last line of the rules it said no plain white Tshirts, now I had a black tshirt on if I really wanted to take things further I could take the establishment to court. I payed my money to get in then I immediately asked to speak with a manager, the young lady advised me that she could assist me since they were al family. She came out and spoke to me and I advised her how I was just profiled and I didn’t like it at all. She ensured me that some security guards do let people in as I was dressed and she advised me that next time I wouldn’t have any issues, I also spoke with a guy named Deon he advised me that next time that I return they would make it right to me. My thing was my issue was tonight and not next time there seriously won’t be a next time for me, mainly because you don’t mistreat people when they are trying to spend their money at your establishment. This is probably the best hookah lounge I’ve been to in Memphis thus far! The atmosphere is very nice and it is spacious inside and out. The new owners has done a great job making this place over. Hookahs and drinks are a bit expensive but I think you get close to what you’re paying for bc the drinks are large and a bit strong. Food is good, not great, but you definitely get your moneys worth there. This is a hidden gem. The food here is great. The lady who owns it. They were professional, easy to talk to very nice person. The place is kind of ducked off.
