Love LOVE LOVE this place soo much. Every time there has ever been a rumor about them potentially closing their doors permanently has literally made my heart break a little bit at the thought. Thankfully the rumors were replaced with the news that they would relocate from Highland where that McDonald's is in the middle or perhaps it's closer to the end of the highland strip but nevertheless they moved over to Summer Ave not too terribly far from the original location and with the same name and the familiar face of logo on the original location's storefront. Imo the best sub sandwich place in the city over all the chains and every place I've ever eaten a good sub sandwich!! I get random cravings for the taste of the bread and idk if it's an oil or seasoning that they use but I crave it very intensely when I got too long without stopping by for my absolute fave. The super sub and ALWAYS a 12 inch. I think I finished a whole one in one sitting one time, but never have held on to a piece until the next day. I always end up finishing the sandwich later the same day. I'm starting to crave one...
Read moreI was very disappointed. I use to visit them often and I thought they were the best Sub Shop in Memphis when they were on Highland. Although, the bread is still good, the quantity of meat now is not acceptable. I ordered 2 large sub sandwiches ( 1pastrami and 1 ham and turkey),the amount of meat was ridiculous. I don't think that it was enough meat for a half sandwich and I ordered large sandwiches. They only have Swiss and American Cheese. I guess you have to pay extra for a pickle because I didn't receive any. It would be nice if they would slice the onions instead of giving bits of chopped onions that don't amount to one onion ring. Maybe since they moved in the old Captain D's building on Summer, they have more overhead. QUANTITY AND QUALITY has taken a nose dive. I will go to Subway from now on where you pay after they make your sandwich, not before. That's a long drive for me to be...
Read moreVery nice owners/staff, but unfortunately, it's overrated food. Tried the cheese sub and the super sub. Chips are just $0.50 gas station bags of lays and doritos, nothing too exciting there. The bread itself was ok, but nowhere near as good as most of these reviews are trying to get you to believe. Not enough meat at all for a sub of that size, but I suppose that's why they can keep a sub ten dollar price point. Came with a group for the first time after hearing many recommendations, and not one person told us this restaurant was still cash only in our increasingly cashless society. No ATM inside or within walking distance. I'm not terribly disappointed, but not blown away either. If you want a cafeteria quality sandwich and don't feel like opening your own fridge, check it out. --Strong 3.5/10 Doesn't live up to...
