My thoughts on Hillboyz are relatively good. However, it should be more training with the child/children taking the food orders at the counter. The prices listed on the menu INSIDE 0F THE RESTAURANT should be what is charged when ordering, for instance upon ordering a 12 piece wing, I asked how many flavors comes with that 12 piece and she stated 2, so why was there an extra charge of .55 cents for the 2nd flavor 🤷🏽♀️? Also, we wanted to get cheesecake dessert etc... the menu price says $3.75, why then was she trying to charge $4.50 each for them? Fortunately I did catch that, and I said the menu has a charge of $3.75 for the dessert, and she said, oh I 'think' they just went up (not cool at all) so we kindly declined to buy them. Lastly, I understand the policy that's conveniently tucked in the corner on the wall over from the ordering counter on all sales are final; no redo on the food or refund on anything. That's harsh in my opinion, because as some of our wings were heavy salted (too salty for us to eat) and had to be thrown in trash. Let's face it no one wants to lose out in these situations, but it should be some kind of meeting in the middle about a food item that caused an unhappy customer. Like, maybe possibly returning the food WITH THE RECEIPT and giving half off of the next purchase etc. there are sooooo many ways to resolve the issue where everyone will be happy 😊. While people of all races want to contribute to patronizing black owned businesses these problems have to resolved in some way, after all the customers are the ones who keep these businesses flourishing. Hopefully, Hillboyz will figure these issues out soon.
Response back; I appreciate your reply, however the menu should depict WHAT FLAVOR SAUCES ARE AN EXTRA CHARGE JUST AS OTHER RESTAURANTS SHOW ON THEIR MENU AND HOW MUCH THE CHARGE IS. FURTHERMORE, TO ENSURE THAT CUSTOMERS ARE NOT HIT WITH AN ELEMENT OF SURPRISE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I wish Hillboyz much success. PLEASE DO BETTER AT MAKING YOUR MENU MORE...
Read moreBoom!!! Talk about full success here people! This place is a special little gem. It came recommended by some friends a few weeks ago. Big Herb has since began eating lunch here regularly. You have to start off with the Signature burger. First impressions you ask? Well, do you love food that has nothing but pure love poured into it? I had the Signature burger first and it about slapped my face off with the flavor profiles! The prices aren't the cheapest but here you don't care about prices. You get love here. You can tell the kitchen cares and is proud of what they do. I've also had the surf & turf burger, fish & shrimp manager special, and shrimp & broccoli pasta. Everything I've had is wonderful. The mistress gets the double cheeseburger or the chicken strips. She's picky and she loves this joint. Big Herb is of the Caucasian variety but specifically hunts down the black-owned restaurants for their intense food love & kitchen skills. Memphis has some great ones and this one is on top. Big Herb loves soul food by the way (coupled with the blues). The atmosphere is nice too. Always some music or TV going. There's a blend of all kinds of people that come here and it warms Big Herb's heart seeing everyone coming together for a wonderful food experience! Keep up the good work here folks! VERY HIGHLY...
Read moreSome coworkers and I went on 5/10/23. My food was ok but one coworker had fish and a piece of the fish was hard and dried out. I took the plate back and asked for another piece. In the process of removing the fish the young man took the fries out. The lady told him not the fries so he put them back and then another young man touched them. So as I'm standing there looking at them, the lady says they're going to replace all 3 pieces of the fish. Ok cook but then I tell her to replace the fries to because they been touching all on them. She gets her fish now it's too salty but she goes ahead and try to eat it. Second coworker paid for double cheeseburger and gets a single with wilted lettuce and half of a tomato and part of her patty was missing. But she didn't want the hassle of taking it back. Third coworker asked for a juicy Lucy burger, let's just say there was nothing juicy about Lucy. Now this was all our first time there. And not to mention everything I wanted they didn't have so I had to settle for a burger...
