American Deli — Restaurant in Memphis

I have eaten at American Deli several times now and have avoided the lunch rush. That being said, the environment seems very clean. I have yet to see more than two other customers in the restaurant (once again, I typically visit the restaurant around 11). The service was impeccable and they seem to have the friendliest and most patient staff in fast food, even offering suggestions as I stumbled through all the options. The food was great quality (are the buns made in house?) and the value is absolutely unbeatable. The selection is so varied, I typically have a difficult time choosing menu items. Now, is it the best burger in town? Mine wasn't but it was significantly better than anything else fast food in the area. Were they the best wings I've ever had? No, I can't say that either. However, if you want a great homestyle burger, zesty fries and wings and you want to pay under fifteen dollars, they are the only option I'm aware of. I look forward to...

I went in on a Sunday evening ordered a whiting+wing combo. Got to work and found out it wasn't whiting. Tried to call they wouldn't answer. They were closed when I got off. Had a early morning flight Monday morning returned on Friday.Called the restaurant they were playing on the phone when I politely asked for MGR. Finally I got the MGR he told me to bring it back. I did. However, I told him that if they didn't have the product I should have been informed. I thought they had given me Tilapia. Turned out to be Swai (even worse). Some folks don't know the difference in some fish. Anyway even though I had to burn extra gas to go back over there. He tried to make it right and he was nice enough. If I ever go back I'll only order wings....

I've used the drive-thru here several times now and always had a good experience. The staff are always polite and quick, and the food is really good. The food is freshly made and actually looks very presentable, no matter what you order. I got a chicken tender sandwich today expecting a few small tenders on it, but was quite surprised when I got 2 massive chicken tenders that were bigger than the buns. The philly cheesesteak is really good and so is the gyro. And you never have to ask for condiments or napkins, they always have them in the bag. I'd definitely...
