Zesty Shawarma And Grill — Restaurant in Menifee

Really disappointed! As mentioned in a previous post my family was super excited to have a different option for food when eating out in Menifee.

The little stuff: -Everyone in line was complaining that they couldnt read the electronic menu in the store because it changed pages too quickly. -Everyone in the restaurant already waiting were all really visibly upset and verbal about being irritated (waiting for orders, orders incorrect, later customers getting served earlier, etc)

The big stuff: I order $60 dollars worth of food, 5 entrees each with different options as to taste the spread (Chicken shawarma, gyro, kafta kabab, 2 shish tawooks). Waited over 30 mins. Addressed the cashier about the wait because two other people who ordered after me, with equally large orders were served first. They lost my order! Then they started to yell at each other with a room full of customers. I figured hey, let bygones by bygones if the food is good, right?!? Wrong!

The rice was not cooked and still crunchy on 2 of our orders, the shish tawook was burnt, the chicken shawarma just tasted like oil, the hummus was bland, the "garlic mayo" didn't taste like garlic! Maybe today was an off day but dang was...

Found a gem hidden in this desert. Finally a really great place for shawarma and kababs!

Came in right at lunch time and were treated warmly. Kababs were coming fresh off the grill.

Ordered 3 chicken kabab plates, falafel and extra pita.

Chicken was super juicy, nice char and flavor. Even the SALADS were amazing, I got the fatoush, which was seasoned nicely had radish and fried pita on top! That really made it an incredible salad.

The rice was fresh and moist. The hummus was great, definitely freshly made and had great flavor. The falafel was the perfect size, flavor and crunch!

The pita was soft, thin and moist. Can't wait to come back for their wraps.

Truly rare to find a place that does an amazing job on every small part of the dish.

Food came out fast, hot and fresh. Service was wonderful the owner is very kind, patient and welcoming. I saw him bring in tables from outside to accommodate more guests and checked in with us.

Place smells amazing when you walk.

Decent Mediterranean food, that is a bit dry meat wise, pricey and messy overall. We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. It had mixed reviews but you never know til you try. We sat down ordered some food, and they were very slow on service but it looked like they were behind in kitchen probably from lack of people. The menu was pretty extensive and gave you plenty of food to chose from. The prices are a bit pricy for what you can find at other Mediterranean places. They did have specials that were better rocked though. The food finally came and the meat was very very dry like it been sitting out for a while and wasn’t fresh.
