Neighborhood Pizza Guy — Restaurant in Menlo Park

I’ve meant to write this review for as long as Matt’s been around. It’s humbling in that I’ve learned that he, obviously, knows much, much more about pizza making than I do. Until I got to know his style, I would build my own pizza, add too many vegetables, and wonder why the pizza didn’t seem to work (though we always ate the whole pizza). Because we’re older I started ordering 1/2 the cheese, and never missed the flavor. Over time we trusted his pizza labs. Now I’m sorry I didn’t know to try more of them.Tonight we ordered 4 pizzas for a family work week visit, and I was chewing on the last of this week’s pizza lab as I placed an order for another 2 pizzas for a friend’s this weekend. I ordered a pepperoni pizza with hot honey and it was absolutely delicious! They make their pizzas fresh to order in a hot pizza oven, no soggy bottom pizzas here! The crust was thin and crisp, perfect for folding and eating with gusto. I highly recommend their pizzas!

My wife and mother-in-law ordered sandwiches, which they make with house-made focaccia bread. They described their sandwiches as being "yummy" and "tasty".

The restaurant is pretty small, but they've got plenty of outdoor seating out back, with shade. They've also got a collection of board games in the back which were fun to play with while we waited for our food.

The heese pizza here is loved by our kids, and we love Pizza of the week: Pizza Labs. We devoured the Pear-sciutto, and tonight’s ‘Piece ‘a Tikka’ (Masala red sauce base with aged mozzarella, chicken tikka, paneer, spinach, tomato & green curry drizzle) was a really delicious take on South Asian flavors!
