Bagel Tyme — Restaurant in Merced

The atmosphere of the place was great. But they don’t seem to follow food handlers guidelines. I ordered a bagel sandwich and received my food with a hair in it. They don’t wear hair nets so that wasn’t to surprising. But they also lack the skills to actually cut the bagel properly. Not only did my food have hair in it but it wasn’t cut all the way so when I went to try to eat it (before finding said hair) it ripped apart all wonky. With the time frame being close to 40 minutes I figured I’d receive an amazing lunch but that was definitely not the case. Now I understand why their prices are so cheap. It’s because their food standards are cheap as well!! They also took a bunch of orders for bagels they were running out of. I don’t want to pay for my food wait 30mins to find out my choice of bagel is now out. You know how many you make and stock each morning so paying attention to that would be great. Was not at all impressed with this place bagels are good but the smoothie was watery over sweet and the service that I got after trying to substitute my order for an item on the menu for the exact same price I was met with what I felt was a rude employee as they tried to explain to me how to items on the menu that are the same price or actually different prices and still confused and scratching my head upon trying the food the smoothie was horrible horrible probably the worst I've ever had look at how it separated into just sugary crap also the bagel sandwich is very plain nothing on it at all for $8 except she's a tomato and maybe one egg come on guys your bagels are good and you got to do better but I won't be back unless I'm getting playing bagels which actually are pretty good I'm going to give me a change of that menu because it's...

We tried Bagel Tyme today and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere is cute – dark and modern, and honestly, it felt like we weren’t even in Merced anymore.

We decided to share the Cali-cado bagel, and it was delicious overall. The chipotle mayo was super tasty! However, there wasn’t much turkey or avocado in the sandwich, so we wished there was a bit more of that.

My biggest issue came with how the bagel was cut. The top half was much thinner than the bottom, and when the sandwich was cut in half, it wasn’t all the way through. The tomatoes weren’t cut uniformly either – it wasn’t a huge deal, but having both big and small pieces in the same bite was a little odd.
