Groovy Donuts — Restaurant in Meridian Charter Township

I tend to occasionally think of myself as a donut connoisseur, that being said, I am incredibly pleased with the donuts from Groovy Donuts. I like to look for the three "T's" when looking at how to rate a donut. Taste, Texture and Timing. "Taste", these are some of the best tasting donuts you are going to find, and the sheer amount of variety will give everyone at least 1 or 2 favorites. "Texture", come on we have all had that donut from somewhere that looks like a great donut but when you sink your teeth into what is meant to be God's greatest creation, the texture ruins the whole experience. THIS IS NOT the case with Groovy Donuts, texture is perfect! Not to fluffy and flaky, not to hard and crunchy, just a good solid soft yet firm texture. "Timing", how long is a good donut good? I have had pretty good donuts that if you eat 2-3 hours after being made fresh are complete garbage by that point. Well I am on some donuts that are over 24 hours old and they are still fresh! All in all I cant recommend this place enough, if you are looking for a delicious, fresh tasting this is the only place...

This place is rad! Stopped in to see what Groovy Donuts was all about and was greeted with an awesome vibe as soon as I entered the door.

The donuts are perfect. Very soft with locally sourced ingredients that bring out the perfect level of sweetness in every bite. The selection is large and should give even the pickiest of eaters something to choose.

Now lets talk coffee. To put it simple, I don't think I have ever had a smoother cup of coffee. The dark roast I had was delightful and gifted my pallet a bold/rich aftertaste. A little cream and a medium amount of sugar was my perfect blend.

The service was impeccable. Matt the manager was incredibly kind and sociable. He helped me pick some great donuts and had a friendly conversation with me. This really made my day.

Finally, the price. For 2 artisan level donuts and a large coffee, I payed less than $5. I emplore you to find better deal than that.

We normally get donuts from Tim Horton's because it is the closest place to us. However, their donuts aren't very good and the service is terrible. I finally got to the point that I decided to find a new donut place. I just googled "best donuts in lansing" and Groovy Donuts was on the list. Boy am I glad it was. I got an assortment of donuts. Most of them were fresh, light and fluffy.....absolutely delicious. It only gets 4 stars becuase the vanilla cake with frosting (both green and purple) had a very strange flavor that was off putting. It was definitely coming from the frosting and all four of us had the same reaction. No biggie, we just wont get those in the future.
