Yesterday I had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE over the phone. I still canāt believe what I experienced. Whoever that answered the phone (who is a woman) at 3:21pm on June 10th, was unbelievably rude to me. We were in a hurry with a group of six people but we want to have some authentic Chinese food and I have been here before a few times, so I called about half an hour earlier before we arrive asking if they can start to cook for us so we can dine in right after we get there. Before I called I check both Yelp, Google and their website, hoping to find their Chinese menu to know what to order but failed. So I asked the woman if she can give us some recommendations. And she responded very impatiently, with an attitude in Chinese āhow come you donāt know what to order before calling?!ā I was completely shocked by the attitude she gave me. I even tried to check the menu before I call! And even if I found the Chinese menu, asking for recommendations should be the most common question to ask. Then, after trying to recall from my memory of three dishes, I asked her again for what greens/veggies they had for the day. She replied āpea sprout ā. And when I asked if thereās any other choices, she sounded like she wants to hang up the next second. All the time I felt like treated like someone who was trying to beg for food and their service. And probably she is venting on me for something else from the very beginning. So I did not order anything, and the whole group had to change our plan because of her. And I hate this but I have to permanently cross this restaurant off my to go list. What I want to say is, whoever this woman is, you should get fired. Get yourself together start by re-learning how to treat and interact with other people, EVEN ON THE DAYS WHEN YOU ARE UPSET (if you were). Because OTHER INNOCENT PEOPLE,NOT TO MENTION THEY ARE YOUR CUSTOMER DONāT...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATE! We JUST re-visited this place, and my original assessment (see review below) stands: their food is DELICIOUS!!! Top recs include: their Mapo Tofu, Mongolian Chicken, and "Mixed Vegetables" - which, despite the name, aren't simply "vegetables" but vegetables in a FANTASTIC brown sauce that's to-die-for. HUGE bang/buck restaurant! Here's my review from a year ago: It would be easy to dismiss this GEM of a locally-owned restaurant as "typical strip-mall fast-food Chinese," when driving by. You'd be wrong. The dishes are FANTASTICALLY flavorful, delicious, and prepared fresh. My wife and I used to be regular customers years ago, prior to pandemic. But we moved away for several years, and only recently decided to try it again. We didn't even know if it was the same owners (it was/is). And we were DEEPLY impressed by the quality of the dishes. We got the Mapo Tofu and the Kung Pao Chicken, and both were packed with complex flavors and delicious. The Mapo, in particular, is HIGHLY recommended, as the flavor profile is unique (compared to other restaurants' rendering of Mapo); but know this: if you're not a garlic lover, stay away, but if you ARE, you'll be AMAZED. Portion sizes were generous, too (we're going to be able to get three dinners out of this one order). I can't comment on the negative reviews below, but what I CAN say is OUR experience was A++, and that we're going to resume going here regularly whenever we're in town. PS My "atmosphere" rating of "3" simply reflects the fact that it's a standard fast-food interior, rather than a "sit-down fine dining" vibe (ala Charlie Kang's, our other go-to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTypical American Chinese food. Here are the facts, you make your own judgements. Bland, fatty, refrigerator seasoned chicken. Over sweetened sauces from a can. I normally would leave a decent review but as far as Chinese restaurants go, this was pretty low. You would find better quality at the Mall. Chicken was all batter and fried fat, no meat and no flavor. It was old and I could definitely taste the freezer burn. I had cold raw broccoli on the plate for some reason. Rice was dry and flavorless. Portion size was small and value was way off. Egg roll was fried 5 minutes too long. Service was not friendly, not bad, but not good. The only thing I liked was that they donāt have ice and unfortunately, they use styrofoam plates and plastic forks...
