Buddies Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Meridian Charter Township

The food here was delicious. However what made me give this a one star was the bartender who was rude and nasty. I did a take out order having never been here and I did not see a place for a note as I had never used their online system. I did not know you could ask for a side of dressing that way in the online system. The bartender with the dark hair who was working Friday night the 8th of July said and I quote, “Umm yeah just so you know there was a button for that!” As she rolled her eyes and handed me some extra 1000 island. Little did she know I had a $20 in my pocket for her too as I tip cash and not on card. So happy I didn’t give it to her first. So try at your own risk. If someone only wants to be nice when you tip is that is not how it works. I was in the industry for over 20 years. There are too many other restaurants in town to have to deal with miserable nasty mean people. What’s sad was it was my sons...

Went here for the first time since we moved to the neighborhood really hoping this can be a spot for us. Their Facebook had a “Kids eat free on Mondays” but it turns out they changed it to Tuesday. Took 3 people to figure this out. No problem but I felt like they could have done something, or even just apologized for the confusion, especially when you have a neighborhood family of potential regulars? Oh well. The food was decent bar food. Our family all found something we wanted.

The only thing I hate is when restaurants nickel and dime you for any and all extras. 4 tiny slices of jarred jalapeño for $1.50? C’mon. Ironically that night I bought 2 huge fresh jalapeños from Meijer for 49c.

I have eaten there a few times and the food is not bad. Last Friday night in east Lansing. I arrived later then usual and the bar was packed, so I decided to sit at a table. The server said to sit anywhere, so I picked one of the tables open. There happened to be only tables doubled up. The manager told the host to move me to the other side due to open mic night. I thought it was odd that they felt I may not have been there for open night. I told the host I was just hungry and didn't care, actually I didn't want to deal with nonsense. I sat down and a guy came out took my order brought me my food, I had dinner, and noticed that my waiter had a broom in hand. I hope he washed his hands before he handled my food. They are usually pretty nice at this location, but Friday there must have been a full moon. Foods good but probably will...
