Nick & Al's Ny Style Pizzeria — Restaurant in Meridian

Everytime I eat here it gets worse and like a woman in an abusive relationship for some reason, I keep going back. There's nowhere decent to eat in Meridian so there arent many options. They always mess up something, it's either going to be a lost ticket and you don't get your food for an hour (more than once.) inaccurate order, greasy, nasty or soggy food or you don't get any service. That or they are out of something. Sometimes it's all the above. They had one of the best spots around until they closed and remodeled it then all of a sudden prices skyrocketed, they think it's fancy now lol! We dont need a "fancy" pizza joint it was a good, afforable, welcoming fun place to eat. Now it's dark depressing and unjustifiably expensive. The food quality and service went down hill. Do not order anything with pepperoni, it's uncooked and greasy. YOU NEED TO PRE-COOK PEPPERONI SOME AND DRAIN GREASE OFF IT BEFORE PUTTING IT INTO A CALZONE! Vegetables when fresh and then cooked release moisture equals wet soggy pizza! Dont have an option for "baked" Rigatoni and "build your own pasta with Rigatoni because it's confusing to the cashiers, apparently. When you order Rigatoni with Meatsauce (didnt say build your own) you'd think they'd get the point you want the cheese on top and it baked OR AT LEAST ASK. Then you get hit with AN EXTRA charge for "meatsauce" seriously? $20 for a bowl of pasta without cheese...NOW I have to pay for some meat in it?!?! Don't advertise a "special of the day" if you close at 9 or 10pm and by 6pm you're out of it week after week! Last but not least the $7 side salad that sometimes comes with burnt croutons and sometimes you don't get anything. You have to go into Subway to use the restroom which is always nasty. Real fancy joint! Justify charging people $20/plate+ and have to walk into filth and drug needles to use the restroom. Doesnt matter when you go, there are always employees out back smoking and goofing off "washing" mats or sitting outside by the shed. Guess they dont have cameras back there like they do everywhere else inside. Oh and now they also charge you extra for using a card vs cash! REAL FANCY ESTABLISHMENT...CLASSY! I thought that was illegal. I'm a business owner. I cannot charge a person more for cash or finance, so I don't see how this is legal. Pepperoni pizza and Philly cheese steak Calzone were excellent. This restaurant's food should easily earn them five stars. There was a lovely asian woman bussing tables and refilling drinks who happened to have a noticeable accent. Unfortunately, my wife and I overheard the chefs and workers behind the counter making jokes in offensive faux asian accents and saying things like "me love you long time" and other phrases commonly used to disparage asian people. This was highly inappropriate given that the woman was clearly not "in on the joke" (not that it would make it any better). It also seemed like the worker that was egging all this on was the older of the four behind the counter. Overall, the chefs and cashiers seemed to be lacking professionalism or aware that they were supposed to be representing a company that seems to be dearly loved by the town. However, the woman bussing tables and refilling drinks was kind and attentive. It would be a shame if she had to share tips with her other coworkers. I really hope this issue is addressed because I cannot in good conscience give my business to a restaurant that would allow this behavior...

All my visits to Nick & Al's have been great but on Saturday March 31 I call in to go pizza at 5:41 The young man who took my order said it would ready in 30 minutes I got there at 6:00pm paid for my pizza. He said it was in oven ready to come out. It was not busy. I watched a pizza come out at 6:10 The cook boxed it up put on top of oven I asked the waitress could she check on it for me She said OK I watched her go behind counter She never checked on it. A family of 8 got their order before mine and I called in ahead of time They came in ordered behind me. The gentleman said you havent got your order yet I said no not yet. At 6:30 I went counter asked for a refund The young man said I think it just came out He went to oven and got the bottom box there were 2 boxes on top of it I told him that pizza had been sitting there since 6:10pm He said it was still warm because the oven temperature was at 700 degrees. I told him I just wanted my refund He gave me my refund and apologized I will be back hopefully it will a better visit. Its still my favorite place...
