I ordered the Irish Cowboy Sandwich (description below). Irish Cowboy: $14.95 (Grilled, shaved New York strip with melted cheddar, onion rings and horseradish-ranch on toasted focaccia)
The first thing you'll notice is that the meat is NOT shaved beef, but instead ground beef pounded to make it look shaved, and it is not seasoned at all (you'll have pieces of the beef that have fallen on the plate). It's also a really small portion of beef, so much wso that the slices of cheese cover most of it. The "Horesradish-Ranch" is just a light squirt on the bottom bread and only covering a portion of it. The best part is the enormous Focaccia buns...they are brittle and fracture into pieces. No doubt they are hoping to fill you up by stuffing you with the bread. For $15, this was a joke and was returned. Luckily I ordered the Pozole soup as a side and it was very good.
Side note for management that's kind of bothersome even for a casual place... there is no dress standard for the servers - it looks like they can literally wear whatever they want - torn jeans, ripped shirts, dirty pants, etc. They don't need uniforms, but there should be some dress code. Also, a couple of the guys had really long hair over their shoulders, and one had an unkept and scraggly beard (how'd you like to get some of that hair in your food?). Lastly, there were four servers just congregating in front of the kitchen doing nothing except talking about their personal stuff in front of diners - they weren't waiting for their orders.

The atmosphere is great, tables are clean and the chairs are comfortable for an environment that has a bar inside.
We were looking forward to eating in a cool place with AC as it was 100 degrees outside this day, but to our disappointment, their AC was broken and it was very hot inside.
My meal, which was the fish and chips, were excellent, and they carry my favorite beer which is always a plus.
The reason I rated them so low was because of the service. The first visit here the service was great.
The 2nd visit however, it appears the waitress was having a bad day. I asked for a glass to pour my beer in, TWICE, and finally I had to walk to the bar and get it myself from the bartender. I walked right past her and she didn't even notice. She was more interested in chatting with her coworkers than worrying about her customers. We made several very reasonable requests during our meal, and all of them were either late, slow, or not fulfilled at all.
The final straw for me was when I heard that my brother ended up having to contact Rudy's a week later when he got his credit card bill and found he was overcharged by THIRTY DOLLARS! They confirmed the waitress had made a mistake when she charged us, and they did credit him back, but after that visit and the terrible service, we won't be returning.

Read moreI'm new to leaving reviews, and for better or worse, I only feel the need to leave one if things are subpar. I got here around 8 tonight (8/23/24), sat down, and quickly got service as usual. My waitress Ronnie was awesome, by the way. I had ordered a dozen buffalo wings like I usually do when I've been coming in every few weeks for the past year. I ended up getting fewer than a dozen and with BBQ sauce. I mentioned this to Ronnie, and she quickly took them back. I figured it'd be a bit of a wait to get fresh ones, and of the proper quantity, but apparently the kitchen staff felt it appropriate to just mask the BBQ flavor by tossing the same number and plate of wings in buffalo sauce to cover it up. That didn't work, as I and anyone else who has ever cooked wings would expect. Pretty poor move on the cooks' part, especially with it not being that busy in the late evening. Oh, and there's not exactly a wing shortage anymore, either 🤔
I'll of course be back, because I never let one bad experience ruin things, especially after consistently good visits. However, I hope this feedback makes it to management at Rudy's. And if you have actually changed your buffalo sauce so that it tastes like BBQ sauce, please change it back 🤣🤣🤣
