We never had food from them previously. Watched YouTube video about them and decided to try their food. One day we ordered chicken and gyro platter, and next day gyro only platter. We didn't find their chicken as great as their gyro. Gyro tasted better than the chicken. They offer white sauce and red hot sauce. Don't get the read sauce. It is really hot. I am eating hot foods since childhood and I am telling you that hot sauce is really hot. If you feel the food is dry use the white sauce. It has a lot of calorie per packet though, so check the calorie level on the packet if you are calorie conscious. Their platter includes rice, pita, lettuce and tomato, beef or chicken or beef chicken combo and additional topings ( green bell pepper, onion, olive etc) if you want. Some topings are free, some are with extra fee. Regular platter is $9.99 , and they give more food than you get from a fastfood shop meal deal. If your stomach is regular like mine, you might have difficulty in finishing the entire meal in one sitting.

After craving a gyro for several days, I decided to try one at a local restaurant, which I discovered through a Google search. The restaurant's ambiance was pleasing, with clean and tidy surroundings. I liked yellow and red as accent colors, which are also colors in its logo. I ordered a beef gyro and a chicken shawarma to go. The beef gyro featured fresh tomatoes and beef pieces on a fluffy gyro, and while the flavors were fresh, the overall taste was somewhat bland. Although white sauce and hot sauce were added, I found it a bit difficult to swallow towards the end of each bite due to lack of taste. The chicken shawarma gyro had a slightly better taste but lacked depth, possibly needing more sauce or seasoning. Both gyros were prepared quickly, and while the experience was just ok, it didn't leave a lasting impression.

Ordered the six piece falafel, the combo platter with white and green sauce, and a baklava cheesecake. The falafel came out looking like burnt turds and the taste probably isn’t far off from that description. The platter was bland and neither of the sauces did much to enhance the overall flavor. The baklava cheesecake was just okay, nothing special. Guess you shouldn’t expect much from a place where everything is premade.

This location has been my home location since the first day they opened. The food there is always great! I have a serious issues with the service, owner, and Managment! Let me explain: Being a minority I have zero phobias or issues with diversity! I am upset that management and the owner doesn’t make sure the people who have to take your order understand the menu and at lest 5-10 basic English words that pertain to being able to order, like “combo” “No Tomato” “French Fries” Or “Hot”. I have had several poor experiences due to a strong struggle to communicate their very basic menu to the person making the orders. I don’t blame the person who was working. That’s POOR MANAGEMENT! They were trying the best they could. But I shouldn’t have to suffer for this. This Location DOES NOT participate in the reward program. This is very upsetting. When they first opened they did. Then for months they would tell you the machine was broken. Now they don’t participate at all. This location is very prime especially being near the Metro, I no exaggeration spend a minimum of $150 a month in platters and sandwiches for business purposes. I do not get to gain any reward for my patronage. That is disheartening. I even had to go to another location to be able to redeem my Birthday reward. This location is 1/2 a block from where I live and work. Lastly their cleanliness! I had stop patronizing this location for over 3 months due to a bad incident. I watch people carefully when preparing and serving me food. It was later in the evening and you could tell the store was peeping to close. I watched the attendant finish up wrapping the garbage and put it in the back to help the gentleman in front of me and myself... the attendant did NOT remove her gloves as she prepared the gentleman’s food. I alerted her by saying “hey, hey, you forgot to change your gloves.” She completes the order and says “I did”. I watched her, she did not! The gentleman thanked me and requested she make a new one, but I was upset NO ONE, not even managment said anything to her, or even at the least tell her not to argue, just change your gloves! My local community stopped going to this location for a long while. When she no longer worked there we tried again. But you have to WATCH your food. They can be very lax about proper handling of food and contaminates. I even reached out to the owner and corporate. No one responded. This is a great menu option in this all fast food area. But please pay attention for your...

If I could give no stars I would. Food was good the 1st few times I went. But I went about a month ago and as soon as I went home I has instant diarrhea. For about 4 days I had nothing but diarrhea. There is one guy who is cool there I always had chatted with. But I'm sure the immigrants they hired either under cooked or didn't wash bowls or utensils or left food out to at room temperature etc to allow food pathogens to fester. And it's unusual for me to get a food borne illness as my body is tough because it's only happened one time before from a cvs pound cake. I thought this was a good location but it really isn't. Everytime I walk in the female staff is always standing around as if there is no work to do. I actually have ample restaurant experience and have a legit ServSafe certificate. Plus I seen one eating on the clock and not even wash her hands then go straight to work. My Dad is from Ethiopia and he even said the new foreign immigrants coming here are a different lower class breed. They have no concern for properly learning how to work in food establishments nor do they respect the American customers spending their hard earned money which supports them because they have a Job to come to and earn a living. Avoid this place at all costs go to another halal guys. Sad thing is I'm Muslim and absolutely love halal guys. The young latino cashier is a good worker. But all those females should be fired immediately. They speak no English and can't even understand the basic things you convey to them while placing order. Plus everytime I've come in it's dead with no business but the females walk up as if they have an attitude and try and rush and throw stuff in the bowl as if to just get you the heck out the way. Halal guys as a company needs to hire actual ethical Muslims to serve /work there and or Americans who actually understand English. When a place gives me dam near instant diarrhea that lasts four days I'll NEVER go back until they get entirely new staff. I hate to be harsh but this country is just letting anyone walk across the border and hiring them for cheap labor. I hope halal guys as a corporation gets this solved and improves. Because I love the concept love the food and actually have thought about even...

The owner of this restaurant is a complete jerk. I was walking in the restaurant and my suit jacket got caught on the door hinge since it was sticking out (They haven't fixed it still) and it ripped my jacket. I called the emergency number on their certificates listed in the store and it was the owner, Ahmad, he had no sympathy about the situation and did not apologize. Instead, he boasted about the fact that he has great customer service and that I do not have the right to demand anything from them. Bad leadership!!! Its not that I even wanted something from him, I was upset that due to his restaurant's negligence my suit jacket was ripped. He didn't even have the courage to say sorry. Very rude. People like him should not be given authority to own big branded restaurants like The Halal Guys. I sent an email to them and it has been over a week and they still have not responded to me. They just don't care about customer service and clearly do not understand what good customer service is.

UPDATE: Looks like the owner STILL doesn't understand that the review is not about the jacket, its about the HORRIBLE customer service that I received and how I was talked down to as a person by the Owner. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS HERE! DON'T GO HERE!

Nice work being sarcastic in your horrible response, Ahmad! You're a...
