Hugo's Pizza — Restaurant in Merrill

Server was friendly. That's really all I can say good about this place.

My in-laws, my wife and I decided to meet in Merrill so that we could pick up my daughter who spent the week at their house. Once we all arrived, we ordered drinks which came quickly. We then ordered 2 pizzas and a salad. The side salad literally took 20 minutes to arrive. This was a Friday afternoon, and if they were really busy, I could understand. We were the only table in the place. The pizzas were another 20 minutes after that. For all the great reviews we found online about this place, we figured the food must be really fantastic since, to quote another recent review, it's "worth the wait". It definately wasn't something to rave about. I suppose they only have a Pizza Hut besides this place, so maybe it's the best in town.

It was starting to get busy when we were ready to leave and the only server in the place was getting pretty backed up. Took another 10 minutes after we asked for our check and a box before we finally got it.

2 hours after we arrived, we finally were able to leave.

I live in Tomahawk but work in Merrill, having tried many of the great pizza places in Tomahawk I wanted to try what Merrill had so I gave Hugo's a try. Staff was very friendly I'll give them that but the pepperoni pizza I ordered was way short of pepperoni counting more than 18 spots void of where another slice could have gone, pepperoni was under cooked as I was looking for a nice cup and char. The cheese pizza could also have had a few more minuets to cook as the crust was under done. Both pizzas were very greasy. See the picture, boxes are swimming in grease, probably from the cheese. I called in my order at 3:30 pm and was told it would be ready at 4:00pm. Didn't get it...

Colleen is the best pizza maker around! She always tries her hardest, puts in the smallest details. She gives out more than she receives. She is the nicest lady, I have never ever had a hard time ordering from her pizza shop, they are always timely.

The food is amazing, I would never go to any other pizza place. I never had a bad slice of pizza from her. The cheesy bread is excellent and melts in your mouth. Overall just an excellent place and super...
