So this used to be our favorite place, the food was really good and the family was pleasent. During COVID things changed, I completely understood as everything changed. We have tried to order food 4-5 times over the past year or so and each time it has gotten progressively worse. The kid who runs the front counter if that is what you want to call what he does, he is rude, dismissive, and will activily avoid eye contact with a front lobby full of people to avoid doing "his job" Knowing the service is slow and not the greatest but hoping the food had improved since the last time we had tried, we tried again. Bad idea, ordered on line at 3:45 PM with an expected pick up time of 4:30 PM per the website. Arrived at 4:30, paid for the food and was told it would be "just a few minutes" at 5 PM I am still standing there waiting, I asked again after spending several minutes waiting for the kid to look at the counter. He rolled his eyes and said another 5-10 minutes. If I didn't think it was going to be more of a production I would have asked for a refund and left. The food once we got was awful, the bag smelled like stale fry oil and low tide in the car even though no seafood was ordered. The pork fried rice was a pile of mush and the chicken fingers greasy. Most of the order went into the garbage and we ended up having to order pizza instead. Save your money and your time and find another...
Read moreOne of my favorite Chinese takeout places. The restaurant itself is small and looks to be run by a single family. They probably only have four tables and it's pretty basic. No table service. Not somewhere you would want to sit down unless you had to. But, a couple things about this place that I like. First, they have an online ordering system, which is a huge plus for me and not common at other Chinese restaurants. Second, they are pretty inexpensive. They're also fast and at a good location.
As for food, I would say, standard menu, but above average quality. Not as greasy as some other places. And my wife is Chinese and she prefers Xing Wang even over places like Lilac Blossom or Chen Yang Li.
Them being closed on Monday's always throws...
Read moreWent for lunch on a decently hot day. No other customers when I arrived and 2 to 3 more during my time there from 5 past noon to 5 of 1pm. Attendance isn't everything, just a true indicator in this example. Got the staple, egg drop soup and General tso with teriyaki chicken and pork fried rice.
Soup had a burnt type of taste to it, not sure how. The teriyaki chicken was on the drier side and small. General tso was more sweet (orange color sauce with pepper flakes instead of peppers and deeper red sauce) than I like. Pork fried rice was unevenly cooked, some were harder than most and the rice was bland in taste.
Only decent thing was the cost of the food wasn't bad.
Wish my experience was better, looking for a good quality...
