Zhong's — Restaurant in Merrimack

South Garden is probably one of the highest quality "Chinese" food establishments in the area.

The owner and her son are extremely nice and remember your name and favorite dish...a nice touch.

The food is authentic Chinese along with the traditional Chinese-American fare so you can get the usual host of favorites like spring rolls and chicken feet eyeball stew mixed with petrified dragon eggs from the Yi Dynasty.

There is a bar in the back room that has extremely strong Mai Thai's and is speckeled with the usual local townies acting like they own the place, but they're harmless and nice...just don't back into their F-350 and ding their plow truck with the naked lady mud flaps and dual quad super loud exhaust. I'm sure they're not compensating for anything..

Anyway - the food is excellent, the specials are generous in portion and the quality of the food is very high. The service is superb. The atmosphere is typical but very clean and they have big lazy susan's on the larger tables.

Park around back, get a stiff Mai-thai, avoid the local yocals and enjoy the highest quality Chinese food...

First time I have ever posted a review for anything but I felt like I had to warn everyone that this is the worst takeout I have ever had. The crab ragoons had no filling the teriyaki was extremely salty spareribs were dry and had no flavor the house fried rice was dry and lacking ingredients all battered food was crispy and burnt seafood dish smelled funny and was cheap. Usually order from Jade Dragon but they didn't have delivery today. Jade Dragon is good but not exceptional but a heck of a lot better than Zhongs. I love South Garden, I really do...but they are NEVER OPEN WHEN I WANT IT. I flew into Manchester on a week night at 9pm in June and went straight to South Garden. I was thinking about it all day as I flew across the country, and they were closed. Another time they were closed for a couple of day because they went on vacation or something.
