I was driving around the area at lunch time and was in the mood for authentic Mexican food. I spotted it out of the corner of my eye and I arrived just as they were opening their doors. I placed my order and asked if I could sit in the main dining area. They were very friendly and offered me a cup of water as I continued to look over their menu. I already knew what I wanted when I stepped through the door. The smells wafting from the kitchen told me everything I needed to know. And the traditional items for sale in the case were also a good indicator that I had stepped into a very traditional Mexican food establishment. The cases of Mexican sodas in the corner and festive colors brightening up an ordinary space gave me hope that this was a good find. So without even looking at a menu, I rattled off a few dishes that are my favorites in any homestyle place. If the waiter/staff was able to deliver on all my requested dishes: sopes, chilaquiles, guacamole and a side order of rice and beans without hesitation, I could say with confidence that this just might be my new spot. As soon as I walked in a few more people stepped through the door. I noticed the kind and friendly demeanor they had for all their patrons and it seemed that the people that were walking in were regulars. It was clear to me that this was the right choice. WIth my son and husband in the car, I was a bit anxious about how long the order would take. Thankfully, I was in and out of the door, fully loaded with utensils, drinks, napkins and a complete lunch that could have fed three to four adults, in about twenty minutes. My only regret is not ordering more food. But, there's always next time! Thank you-muchisimas gracias-the food was...
Read moreThis is a new local MI Mexican restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Although they have only list American breakfast fare, they can also serve Mexican fare for breakfast too (like huevos rancheros).
We originally came for a good Mexican breakfast but since the menu was more American, we went with their lunch menu instead.
Our server, Andrea, was friendly, accommodating and prompt-as was our food.
Tortilla chips and salsa served while we await our dishes. First off, their salsa is FRESH, with a slight spicy kick for all to enjoy. Tortilla chips were served WARM-major plus!
Our lunch fare was great! Their ground beef tacos are amazing-beef is flavorful and tortillas are fried to order. The pork was slightly dry but adding their freshly made red or green sauces made it tasty! The green is a now a craving!
My chilaquiles were also flavorful but not sure if eggs were added.
Refried beans and rice were made in-house (tried two days in a row) and delicious!
Their tortilla machine was down last week-awaiting parts, but once this machine is up it will “up the ante” with FRESH tortillas!
Since our first day we can say of the many taco choices, the beef tongue is our favorite! Tender and flavorful!
Definitely tempt your taste buds with our local and reasonably priced MI restaurant when you’re craving...
Read moreI just moved here and have been looking for decent Mexican cuisine since it's my favorite. I found this place through a Google search and decided to try it. I walked in and placed a take out order for a chicken fajita taco salad and was given a 15-20 minute wait time. Some pros with my first time at this restaurant was the quick service and for authentic Mexican cuisine prices were reasonable and affordable (even though there was an upcharge for getting the fajita chicken instead of the grilled chicken). The cons however definitely outweigh the pros. First, I had to repeat my order to the server several times before another server came over and assisted. Even after having 2 people take my order once I got home and opened my food it still ended up being wrong ( several toppings were missing on the taco salad) Secondly, it tasted very bland which was such a dissapointment since the main reason I love mexican food is for the bold and amazing flavors. It was worth trying but I will not be ordering from here again. Back on the hunt for a good mexican...
