Brooklyn V's Pizza — Restaurant in Mesa

Yesterday was our first time experiencing Brooklyn V's on higley. It is the newest restaurant in our area. We ordered 2 portions of lasagna, 6 garlic knots, 1 slice cheese pizza, and 1 piece of cheese cake.

The food was ready on time, if not sooner and temperatures were perfect. We ordered it to go and it was all packaged nicely. We've been into the previous restaurant at that location multiple times. The place looked very nice, and very clean. It wasn't too busy at all although it was later in the evening. I would say it's a little pricier than it should be, but isn't everything these days? I mean I paid $50 for what was mentioned above, and the two of us could go to McDonald's and spend $25 - $30 so apparently it's a decent value, lol. I'll preface that and from Buffalo New York so this is the food I grew up on. The lasagna was very good. The same with the pizza. It was exactly what I would expect from Brooklyn New York. Crust had it Christmas to it, thin, not too much sauce, and plenty of cheese. Cheesecake looked as good as it tasted. Very smooth and light. The garlic knots however, not so much. They were basically pizza dough knots. We could not taste garlic or seed parmesan on them. The garlic knots I'm used to have a shine to them because of the butterey garlic sauce they were tossed in, and then the parmesan sprinkled on top of them. The garlic knots I'm used to are tossed in a big cattle just like Buffalo wings are tossed in their sauces. I looked forward to going back soon, and may even eat inside so I can try something else. A good Philly cheese steak would be really wonderful in the area, and I will definitely eat more of that pizza except ordering a whole pie with the ingredients I like. This was our first experience with Brooklyn V’s. We ordered take-away. The service was great, kind and courteous, & they accommodated modifications to our meal. The Garlic Knots were delicious & we were able to add a full size salad for only $3 more. Only complaint we had was our Chicken Rollatini was overcooked/burnt & dry. Been going to this chain for many years now and it never disappoints. Staff is professional and fun to be around and the owners definitely take feedback to heart and make changes. As far as pizza places go, definitely a recommend in my book. Have to at least try it yourself once before...
