⭐ 1 Star (Because Zero Isn’t an Option)

If you're looking for mediocre food served with a side of rock-bottom service, look no further than K-Food Garden at the H MART food court in Mesa, AZ.

Let’s talk about the food first: It's passable, nothing to write home about. But the real highlight? The customer service disaster that followed.

After my meal, I politely asked for a takeout box. The employee (featured in the attached photo for his well-deserved recognition) handed me the smallest box humanly possible—like, we're talking thimble-sized. When I kindly requested a slightly larger box to ensure my leftovers wouldn’t explode all over my car, he flat-out refused. His reasoning? “The food you ordered doesn’t need a bigger box.”

I calmly explained that, while his culinary geometry was impressive, I wanted to be on the safe side in case I had more leftovers. Still, a hard NO. I get it, technically he didn't have to give me a bigger box. But here’s the thing—I don't have to spend my money here ever again. And guess what? I won’t.

So, congratulations to this employee for saving the company a whopping 3 cents on a slightly bigger box! 🎉 My next meal, and the meal after that, and so on, will never add a single penny to this petty establishment’s revenue.

In fact, someone at K-Food Garden should seriously consider promoting this guy to Chief Strategist and Customer Service Experience Executive. His groundbreaking cost-cutting techniques and innovative ways of alienating customers are truly unmatched.

For reference, I’ve even attached his photo here so he doesn’t miss the well-deserved promotion. If any manager at K-Food Garden is paying attention, this happened on Sunday, Feb 2, 2025 @ 3-3:30 pm MT.

To sum it up: If you enjoy bland food served with a side of pettiness, this is your spot. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and walk a few steps to literally any other...

Ordered kimchi stew and was charged for a more expensive dish (spicy beef soup). Saw it after receiving the receipt. Didn’t want to go through the inconvenience of changing the order and refunding a dollar, so I accepted the dish I was charged for. I should have changed it because the spicy beef soup had NO flavor. It was so plain and had nothing but old chewy shredded beef, lots of old bean sprouts and some egg. It was so bad that I couldn’t eat it. Took almost all of it home for my dog. On my way home I was thinking that maybe not even my dog would eat it, but it turns out he liked it. I feel like this soup is dog food and doesn’t belong on a menu in a restaurant. What a...

Nothing like Korean food taste or quality. The taste of everything we bought is actually bad. The quality of items used in our dishes was very bad ,nasty taste, and not fresh at all. The items tasted and smelled like a few days old. The front counter person seems not wanting to be there and cooking as well. No sanitation gloves were used in between the resister and cooking. We were hungry, but left about 90% of food. The taste is really bad and unsanitary. My first and the last time for this...

Ordered the Kimchi stew and it was absolutely tasty! In the kimchi stew, there’s little pieces of pork belly and good amount of kimchi! Each order came with 3 side dishes (kimchi, zucchini and potato) and a side of rice! Perfect meal to share or enjoy by your self! It’s a good portion so I took the rest home for later! I would definitely recommend Food Garden!

I have been here many times because number 3 (stir fried pork belly with kimchi) is a favorite of mine. Unfortunately, I won't come here anymore. The last 4 times I have been here the food is swimming in pure oil. I asked them to reduce the oil so I got half the oil today which is still a crazy amount. The pics show how absurd the oil content is.
