After completing a home inspection at my new contract in Tempe, I found myself craving some delightful Mediterranean food. Food Experience
Customer Service: The gentleman at the register was exceptionally friendly, making the ordering process enjoyable. While there was an older staff member who seemed a bit less cheerful, the overall service was commendable.
Salad: The salad was simple yet refreshing, bursting with flavors that complemented the meal perfectly. It was a delightful start that set the tone for the rest of the dining experience.
Hummus: The hummus was a standout dish—so delicious that I could easily have devoured another cup! Its creamy texture and rich flavor made it a perfect accompaniment to the pita.
Pita Bread: Even the pita, a seemingly simple item, was cooked to perfection. It was warm, fluffy, and had a delightful taste that enhanced the overall meal.
Steak Skewers: The steak was incredibly tender and flavorful. If I could, I would have enjoyed ten more skewers! The seasoning was spot on, making it a highlight of the meal.
Yellow Rice: The yellow rice was cooked to perfection, with a delightful flavor that paired wonderfully with the other dishes. It was a comforting addition to the meal.
Lentil Soup: Although I typically don’t enjoy lentils, I was pleasantly surprised by the lentil soup here. It was flavorful and hearty, making it a great choice for anyone looking to incorporate healthy options into their diet.
Conclusion
I left Princess Pita feeling satisfied and eager to return. The combination of delicious food and friendly service makes it a fantastic choice for anyone craving Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant not only offers a variety of flavorful dishes but also embodies the essence of the Mediterranean diet, which is known for its health benefits, including heart health and improved blood sugar levels. I look forward to...
Read more5/25/24: stopped in again this particular Saturday for an early dinner. Yep, all still good. :-) The only negative mention is that I would warn you off the lamb shank. I don't know if it is typically as bad as it was this day, or if they gave me something that had been sitting out for hours, but the shank I was given was so dry and tough it was akin to eating jerky. My jaw muscles definitely got a workout, but I will never order a shank from here again.
2/28/22: This was our second visit to Princess and it was just as good as I remembered ... although I forgot it was order at the counter. They have pretty ample parking, a patio, and although it's not a large place, there was plenty of seating.
The food did seem to take longer but I firmly believe that's because it was not sitting under a heating lamp; it was made hot & fresh. The hummus is divine; very creamy. The combo plate was gi-normous (2 or 3 small eaters could have shared that meal!). The beef kebab had large chunks of beef, they definitely did not skimp on that!
As I'm digging into the kebab wrap & the fries, the gal comes back with another plate of fries. She explained they apparently gave me the small order of fries & she was giving me more to make up for the mistake. That was totally unexpected - because I felt like the amount they gave me was fine.
Unfortunately, my eating partner's order was lost, which she discovered after waiting for a long time & going up to inquire about her food order. The owned up to it and when they brought her plate out, they included a piece of baklava. :-) Now that is what you call excellent customer service, in my opinion.
We would definitely revisit Princess again!
12/17/19: Popped in last Saturday around 4:30 and the restaurant only had 2 people, but I wasn't worried based on the reviews I'd read. The food did not disappoint. I had the Beef Trio -- and got 3 meals out of it. The seasoning was awesome, the hummus was so creamy, and the pita was nice & hot. We were going to get baklava & try the namura but one of the staff, Hyatt, came to our table & struck up a conversation with us, explaining she just made her favorite dessert (kanafa) & wanted us to try it. We did and OMG, does she know how to bake good stuff. She was super hilarious & turned a pleasant dining experience into a my-eyes-are-running-from-laughing-so-hard experience. Princess is definitely a place to return to. They have a nice patio and Hyatt was saying they have a Friday only buffet, 11 to 4. One of these Fridays...
Read moreI visited family in Arizona back in October and had a craving for Mediterranean food. This place was close by decided to try it. This place is part grocery store and part restaurant.
We ordered the baba ghanoush appetizer along with the Fattoush salad. The baba ghanoush came with warm pita bread. The fattouch salad was good and super fresh. The baba ghanoush is nothing to brag about & will not order it again.
I ordered the chicken kebab platter. We also ordered the falafel sandwich and a side of fries.
The fries were standard. Pretty good, hot and crispy but you know they come from a bag, not fresh.
I did not receive the chicken kebab platter instead received some cut up pieces of chicken platter. See the captioned picture. The platters come with hummus, rice and small salad, but I substituted for tabouli.
I did let the person who was bringing out the food know that was not what I ordered. He didn’t do anything about it. Instead, he told me that is what I ordered and I told him no I ordered the chicken kebab. He tried to make me believe that is what I ordered. Again no apology nor did he try to make it right. Definitely not customer oriented. that chicken was not good at all. The flavor and the texture was super weird.
At that point, we didn’t care to eat anything else. We never tried the falafel sandwich because we were very upset about the experience with the chicken plate. We didn’t take our food home. We left everything on the table.
This place is not cheap and you would expect that they would’ve made it right or got the order right but no such luck.
Definitely will not be returning and based on my experience, sadly, I do not...
