I walked in and asked for a gluten-free Herb Chicken Mediterranean pizza with two extra toppings (mushrooms and black olives). My first concern was whether it was gluten-free or not. But once the pizza was assembled, the lady proceeded to wrap the pizza without the two before-mentioned extra ingredients. I reminded her that I said that I wanted the two extra ingredients and the employee rudely replied that she thought I didn't want the two extra toppings since I needed to pay for them. I told her to charge me for the extra topping, that I didn't understand her rude attitude, that she needed to ease the guard and stop being so rude, and that I didn't like her attitude.
After paying for the two extra toppings, I commented that I was wondering if charging extra for the mushrooms and olives was a change of policy since it was the first time I was asked to pay extra for them.
Her answer was astonishing, to say the least. She told me, and I'm quoting, "We always have charged for any extra toppings, and I am the boss here!"
Once again, I told her that she didn't need to be so rude, that I didn't know what was bothering her, but that she needed to take it easy. I told her, "Please relax, today is Friday. You need to calm down.
After receiving my order, I proceed to wish her a happy weekend and I left the store.
That person doesn't understand one crucial detail. Papa Murphy doesn't sell pizza. You sell a service. If I wanted a pizza, I would have gone to any pizzeria or would have ordered a pizza online.
I liked this place for its great and courteous service, regardless of the high price tag.
I have always been served with courtesy and respect, and the personnel always made me feel welcome. Not today. Today is the day I decided it will be the last time I step inside your store. You lost a customer, and I will make sure to let know all the people I love about my decision and why. Today ended up being a sad day because of the poor attitude of the person who self-proclaimed "the boss of this place." I feel like I lost a friend. But my integrity and self-esteem are...
Read moreI went to the papa Murphy’s in Mesquite last night to be treated and talked to very disrespectfully by their assistant manager Linton. When I asked for a LITTLE extra cheese on top of a pizza that there was hardly any cheese on to begin with, he threw a fit...saying he would have to charge me an extra $1 after I just spent $70 on 4 pizzas, AND after just giving another customer extra cheese at that customers last minute request with no charge! Then Linton proceeds to THROW 2 HUGE handfuls of cheese on the pizza and left it all clumped in the middle without spreading it out and tried to wrap it up this way. When I simply asked him to spread it around and to take just a little bit off as my father in law is a stroke patient and can’t eat THAT much cheese his words were “so what you have a problem with extra cheese now?” I told him no just not THAT much and I want it spread out not in a clump. He then walked off calling me names and speaking I’ll under his breath and when I told one of the other workers “there’s no reason for him to be acting such a fool over a LITTLE cheese” he shouts from the back of the store “takes one to know one!” He was very argumentative and disrespectful! I will NEVER be back to the mesquite location unless it is a night or day that Becky (the manager above...
Read moreAside from Papa Murphy's Pizza being our absolute favorite-tasting pizza, we love the fact that it's so reasonably-priced and can be "custom-made" and waiting for us if we call ahead. I often wish we had a local Papa Murphy's in our town, but then I would miss the weekly interaction I have with Becky and staff (one town away from us). The manager, Becky, knows which pizza I order repeatedly and even if she is not present, many of the staff know which pizza to make if we call it in. From time to time (very infrequently) I see some frustrations in the reviews, but as a former business owner myself, I know there can be stressful and busy days where workers are somewhat focused on the job rather than the customer. However, as often as I visit Papa Murphy's in Mesquite, I have never seen an unpleasant face nor experienced anything but a positive attitude and service. Yes, we drive just a bit, but we don't mind the attention we get (much different than our local Dominoes or Pizza Hut) and the hot-just-out-of-the-oven (literally since we put it in the oven ourselves) great-tasting pizza every...
