This used to be an average Italian restaurant in Methuen. Today I went there with my partner And now it's not a restaurant anymore. At least not in the traditional sense. You have to wait in line in order to get what you want. Then you pay. And then you wait and wait and wait. It is understaffed and the choice of menu items is poor. What I got which was meatballs was not too bad. But the minestrone soup that I ordered never arrived. I had to go and find somebody in another part of the restaurant in order to get my money back. Not only does the menu have very cute choices but it is full of advertising on every single page. Maybe they are hoping to make money off the advertisers and not the customers who are trying to buy food. The seating are a bunch of tables with chairs. Nothing attractive about it and nothing comfortable about it. If I didn't say it before I'll save now there is no customer service. It was such a bad experience that I never intend to return to this poor excuse for restaurant. There is nothinn the owner can do to get me back except one thing, a complete overhaul of their business model. This is shameful and if you believe what I say do not go there.

Update* After writing this review, Borrelli's not only fully refunded us but also followed up with an email. They took ownership, apologized and said they would work on tweaking this menu item. I think that's amazing customer service and I will be back because of it! I really hate to do this but I am so disappointed in the food that I ordered. I ordered two trays, chicken Marsala and chicken broccoli Alfredo. The chicken Marsala was chicken tenders, with very minimal sauce. I heated up according to instruction and it turned to mush. To be honest, I was embarrassed to serve it. They are closed today but I will be calling to follow up this week.

Drove 45 minutes after seeing this deli on a Facebook group and we’re glad we did. I got the caprese sandwich (took out the prosciutto and added chicken cutlets) - delicious. My husband got a veal parm sub and thought the veal was a perfect thickness with a nice crisp to it even with it being covered in sauce. We had planned to take half our sandwiches home, but they were too good. We’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been coming to Borrelli’s Italian Deli for the past 15 years, and I can honestly say that this place is nothing like it used to be. It used to be the go-to spot for an amazing sandwich, but after my last visit, I don’t think I’ll ever be back.

First off, the quality of the food has taken a serious nosedive. I ordered a simple sandwich—nothing complicated—and somehow, they managed to mess up every part of it. The bread, which used to be fresh and soft with that perfect crunch, was stale and dry like it had been sitting out all day. The meat tasted off, like it had been sitting in the fridge too long, and it was sliced so unevenly that some parts were way too thick while others were barely there. The toppings were thrown on with no care—half of the sandwich had barely any condiments, while the other side was drowning in it. It was just sloppy, like no one in the kitchen actually cared about what they were making.

And then came the real headache—the ordering process. The deli was having serious issues with their system, and it turned a quick grab-and-go into a frustrating, time-wasting experience. I get that sometimes things happen, but the way they handled it made everything worse. The employees seemed overwhelmed and unorganized, and instead of communicating with customers or moving things along, they just looked confused and frustrated. I stood there waiting for what felt like forever just to pay for my order. No one offered an apology, no one explained what was going on, and worst of all, no one seemed to care.

This place used to be run so well—fast, efficient, and with great food. Now, it feels like they’ve completely lost what made them special. The staff doesn’t seem trained properly, the quality of the food is disappointing, and the overall experience is just a mess. I never thought I’d say this about Borrelli’s, but I honestly regret going there.

After 15 years of being a loyal customer, it’s sad to see a place go downhill like this. If things don’t change, I can’t imagine they’ll keep their good reputation for much longer. There are too many other options out there to waste time and money on a place that doesn’t care about quality or...

Not sure why but the recipe for the tortellini Salad has changed. Used to be so good but now it tastes like it's made with a Italian flavored liquid that is nasty. Unfortunately it's under new ownership and I think they are trying to improve on things that were already perfect. We will see Went in there again today, under new ownership I was told and cab definitely see the difference. New registers that are slower, order here, pick up there. Place was not as busy as it usually is. I'll be back but not as often I uses to go. *UPDATE went back a few days ago to get chicken marsala..🤮🤮🤮🤮made with what appeared to be frozen chicken fingers, batter was very nasty and the marsala sauce was thick, thicker then lumpy turkey gravy. I know it's new ownership but come on, you can do a lot better with little effort. Sad to see that changes are not...
