My god what happened to this place? I understand tough times and inflation but I have to update from once a 5 now to a 2 because they got hit with the shrink flation as well. Now not only the way in quality but also size.
Service was decent but that's something they seem to always have pretty good but with the lack of alcohol what happened to real bartenders? They measure alcohol now like AMC bars used to do and load you with ice.
We weren't in for a bit bite and sat at the bar to just get the sampler tonight which we expected a decent helping of good for $16 dollars; what did we get? 3 tiny pieces of popcorn chicken? (Not tenders) 4 rattlesnake bites slightly smaller size of (munchkin donuts) and 5 skinny twists if mozzarella "sticks" lmao, this place is a formal shell of itself.
We have been here well over dozens and dozens times in my life in all 3 locations (yes, even back in the peanut shell days) never seen them get hit with the shrinkflation bug so bad until now.
With that said, they were one of my favorite restaurants growing up now I don't plan on ever going back until they correct this. No one should ever pay $16 dollars for a sampler and get what we got due to the price.
Our bill was $70 without tip(we tipped $20 anyway due to just being nice) for 4 mixed watered down mixed drinks loaded with ice with those 4 pieces of popcorn chicken, 4 muchkins and 5 twizzlers sized bearded cheese sticks stuffed with a 5 blades or so of cheese. One thing good (eventhough they still loaded with ice) is they still have good size cups for alcohol and didn't go tiny there just yet.
I'm leaving a harsh review because these franchise chains make a KILLING off of us and Alcohol. This place is today is packed because people are too affected by nostalgia on the former place this used to be and end up leaving disappointed so there is no excuse for lack of alcohol and shrinkflation appetizers.
Thank God we didn't get meals we would probably get chicken tender sized "rib eye steaks" for a $146 check" lmao and trust me we used to have 174 dollar bills here but we used to leave fuller then full and food left over for 3 days.
Honestly it's sad to see. Will this review do anything? Absolutely fricken not, but it needs to be heard and seen and franchise owners need to take notes, you guys are certainly not suffering, sure your costs, rent and taxes have gone up like the rest of us but to hit the customer with that in that way just feels wrong.
One thing at least is they didn't really shrink the cinnamon bread to much but they give a little less rolls and offer refills as much as they used to and the cinn butter doesn't seem as "cinnamony and honey filled" like it used to be.
These franchise owners are all sitting here laughing to the bank while they are taking advantage of us and they decrease the size and quality and quantity of our food and alcohol when so many of us are having a hard time just trying to go out with the family to eat at our favorite places.
It's a shame really. Such a shame. I used to take so many friends and dates here, not anymore. Also parking still kinda sucks but it's overflow section is better than in Nashua. I want MY Texas...
Read moreI see my family once a year due to being stationed in the Army in North Carolina. I coordinated to sync up with my sister and her family who flew in from California. Before we all were to leave in the next few days, we decided to have one last big family dinner here to spend some time together. There was another location in Nashua, NH, but we settled with the Methuen, MA location. We made sure to call first thing in the morning right when they opened to let them know we wanted a reservation for 19 people.
Our reservation was for 7:20 PM. Everyone arrived early and on time, but unfortunately, we still had to wait an additional 40 minutes to be seated. When our tables were finally ready, they gave us 4 booths and 3 servers to take care of us. As we sat down, another table was getting ready to check out. Since that table was a little bigger than ours, we asked if we could go take 2 booths to consolidate into 1 and just having 1 table and 2 booths, and the manager said no. The manager who never apologized for having us wait that 40 minutes and now couldn't even accommodate us to walk five steps over to a bigger table. Her answer was just “no,” without any explanation. She even gave us attitude and a dirty look for the rest of the time we were there. She needs to be retrained or have someone more competent take her place.
Our servers took our orders, got us our drinks, and appetizers. Refills were slow and the bread rolls were so dry that we didn’t even want seconds. As time went by, appetizers were finished, and our children were getting antsy and complaining their stomachs hurt because they were hungry. I didn’t know hot dogs and chicken tenders take over an hour to cook. My sister and parents who sat at the last end of the aisle came to my table and said they were done eating their food. I thought she was trying to be funny, but as I got up to walk over, she wasn’t joking. All 4 people ate while 15 of us were still waiting for our meals.
9:30 PM comes around and we were still waiting. At this point, enough was enough. I told my family that we couldn’t wait any longer and to just pick up Chinese food on our way back home. We asked for the manager several times and told our servers to cancel the food that was ordered. It was way too late for anyone to eat. Like I told our server, who was truly sorry, I have been in the Army for over 18 years and we were just trying to have a nice family dinner. We were not there to walk out on any bill or cause any drama. We gladly paid for our drinks, appetizers, and food that was consumed.
If you’ve read my review this far, please do yourselves a favor and avoid this restaurant.
My advice for this location and its employees is to take this review seriously and figure out how to provide better service to their customers, how to be more efficient, and how to better react to situations like this in the near future. They lost out on over a $600 tab, and we are pretty good at tipping on top...
Read moreWe visited this location on 5/23/23 after 7:15pm. After we waited and were seated the waitress was very nice and even gave me a few minutes extra to order.
My concern and complaints are about the food and the up charging your restaurant does without telling customers about the big increase of price for the up selling.
I ordered the steahouse Kabob with House salad. I asked for cheese on the side because of allergies reasons. I was going to give my husband the extra cheese for his chili and the cheese was still inside the salad but with a container. Also please warn people about the MSG or the amount of sodium you are using in your food. The menu only mentions calories but not the sodium containt. I had the worst side effects from the MSG/Sodium use on my food. My whole body was on fire and severely in pain due to a fibromyalgia flare up only 30min after we left because of the MSG and sodium put in the food.
Our waitress never came back after the food was delivered to ask us how everything was. I was definitely going to mention to her that the food was very salty and my steak was over cooked. But she never came back to even ask us how everything was. After 30min of waiting for our waitress, my husband suggested I just eat and try my best with it.
Also they up sell constantly without mentioning the up sell cost and the menu doesn't even have the price increase information. Very Dishonest! So when you ask they say a few bucks more. Well that's not the case. Country fried chicken is $15.49 with 2 sides, upselling extra chicken breast (just chicken)is $10.99. What?? For another "few bucks" we could have ordered a whole other meal. The "very salty" 8oz Steakhouse kabob is $15.99 with 2 sides. Upselling 1 extra skewer is $11.49 for just the extra steak. Like are you kidding me? Just in upselling we could have purchased 2 more meals and took it them home. Give customers an option. But no one tells you the crazy up selling charges and it's definitely not in the menu. They are trying to be sneaky and dishonest by saying only a few bucks more.
After over an hour + later our waitress reappeared and we asked for the check. we were getting upset and wanted to pay and leave & it was getting really late. By the time we actually left it was already 9:00pm.
A manager did come out and we told her Customers should be notified of the upsell price increase because this is unreasonably dishonest. We should have the option for a couple of bucks more to purchase another whole meal or just not except the upselling.
It will be a very long time before we even try to...
