New to the area, my wife and I decided to go out to dinner for the first time since moving. Unfortunately we picked this place as the first restaurant to go to. The server was great the food was horrible. When we pulled into the parking lot we thought it being pretty full was a good sign. somewhat short version- I had a traditional mojito my wife had a pomegranate Margarita they were both very watery and hardly tasted as though there was any alcohol in them. For 13-14 dollars the taste of alcohol should be at the very least slightly present. Mine had no garnish my wifes had a lime and a couple grains of salt on the rim of the glass.. She asked for salt and I would say it came to the table with no salt. Now to the food. I had Pollo Fundido dinner, it arrived to the table runny cheese sauce not only over flowing my plate but literally it was trailing behind on the floor as the food runner brought our meals over. It was dripping so much off the plate it was all over my wifes side of the booth on the bench over her lap and into her hair. As the food runner dropped our food he mistakenly gave my wife my food and her food was given to me which is no problem at all easy switch done by us. The cheese was everywhere. my meal was drenched in a watery unappealing flavorless cheese. My food was unseasoned and soggy. The only half decent thing on the plate was the rice and that too was unseasoned and cold. My wife ordered the build your own she got a soft shell taco and a quesadilla both with ground beef and cheese. The only difference between the 2 was one had lettuce the other one didn't and the quesadilla was lightly browned on both sides . The quesadilla was more of a soft shell taco than an actual quesadilla. The lettuce was the only indication she had to tell the difference between the two. She asked for onions and sour cream and neither came with her meal it was brought over after by the server who realized on her own it was missing. The taco and the quesadilla were both soggy as well as greasy. When she picked up the quesadilla out the other side poured out watery grease. Both our meals were terrible. My wife had two bites of the entire plate- a bite of the taco and a bite of the quesadilla. When the server came back my wife told her she was unsatisfied with her meal and she could take it from the table. My plate was half eaten. We asked for the check- the check came and my wife's meal was on the check. We didn't ask for her meal to be taken off but she didn't eat it and she expressed it wasn't well prepared at all that should be a given.- if you ask me her meal should of been taken off. why pay for food you didn't eat We pad the check and left. We more than likely wont be return customers. To be clear our server...
Read moreUnintentionally, we ended up dining out at Plaza Azteca in Methuen, where we were treated to a delicious meal and exceptional service by our server, Jonathan. He was very attentive and made sure our glasses were always full. The food was incredible and the company was even better. It was a wonderful way to spend the evening.
I got the skinny margarita which was delightful. Started out with some appetizers. Got sweet plantains with sour cream and cheese. They were cooked to perfection. Nice and sweet but savory with the sour cream. Then we ordered the table side guacamole. It was good but I like mine with a little more onion and some garlic. Not bad through. Then I got the steak fajita which was to die for!!! The flavor was out of this world. Husband got a combo plate #5 with (shredded beef burrito with cheese sauce, beef & cheese tostada, chicken quesadilla and beef taco only $15 for the whole combo very cheap). Twins got chicken tenders kids meal and quesadilla kids meal. Chicken tenders looked great. Very crispy but also not dry at all. All and all very good. One thing I’ll say is when you get the bill look it over. They automatically added 20% gratuity. I was going to give him that anyways but just be careful because it was automatically added. Again. No big deal but just a heads up Incase you go. We were only 2 adults and 2 toddlers. It wasn’t a big party so it was interesting to see that. Anyways...
Read moreHorrid service. HORRID service. Four of us went, sat in the bar at a table - no one came to clean the dishes of the prior guests until we found someone and told them to do so - it was at least 10 minutes of being completely ignored in the bar area at that! Then after he cleaned the table we waited another several minutes for the waiter to come over to take drink orders (2 sodas, 2 waters). We ordered 3 dinners - only 2 came out. After 5 minutes we had to get up and find someone to find out where the 3rd dinner was. AFTER the 2 of us were FINISHED with our dinners, the waiter finally came over and said the ticket for the 3rd dinner just never went to the kitchen and he didn't know why. At that point we said forget it and cancel it and instead of apologizing, or offering a comp meal, or coupon for next time, or complimentary anything, he walked away saying "ok". No one ever came back during the ENTIRE time to refill our drinks, chips or dip. The manager didn't seem to care at all. He made a casual apology but that was about it. We had to find the server again for the bill, and then we ended up bringing the bill to the bar ourselves to pay it because again, he never returned to us. The food is good here, but too bad the service is absolutely horrendous. The 4 of us will...
