My husband and I go here weekly, and it’s usually fantastic. A few visits ago, we noticed that they removed the bottles of green hot sauce that was on every table. We asked for the bottle and we got the runaround. The waitress pretended not to know what we were talking about, but said she’d go look, and brought us back one. Then todays visit…we order the same thing every week, he gets steak street tacos and I get just ground beef tacos. So we sit down and ask for the bottle of hot sauce and the waitress says she’ll bring out what they have. What they had was a bottle of a hot sauce I’ve never seen nor heard of and tasted like ketchup. So we asked if they had any actual hot sauce, and she said she can bring out a cup of it for us. It was a small dish of some sort of creamy green sauce. When we get our tacos, both were filled halfway to what they normally are (the steak didn’t even go end to end on the tacos)and the steak marinade was weak and tasteless barely even there (some pieces of steak had none) when it’s normally very flavorful and delicious. My tacos tasted like what you’d get at school lunch. Toppings were randomly tossed on with no consistency, and the steak was the texture of mush. We get the bill, and noticed we got charged 1.25 for the tiny cup of sauce. Just ridiculous. Also, when you order takeout, they charge your for the containers. I understand inflation, but this is unnecessary. I really feel like they took the green bottles away just so they could charge for their own. For our one night out a week, this was extremely...
Read moreAs I stepped into El Toro Loco restaurant I was promptly greeted by a tall gentleman wearing a cowboy hat with boastful voice and magnetic personality. This dude was friendly to the 10th power and you just can't help but instantly like the guy. When he learned that I was in town to perform at a comedy show at the next town over we struck up a nice little conversation and he let me know that he used to be in the music entertainment industry. I wish I could remember his name but if you ever eat there you would know exactly who I was talking about. A young bubbly waitress helped me with my order and answered my questions about the restaurant and it's owner. After my delicious meal of Nachos Especial which comes with chicken, steak, shrimp, chorizo, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and topped with cheese I went to thank the owners and compliment about the excellent service and food. The husband was working back in the kitchen but I spoke with his wife and a woman from the local radio station for a bit. I left El Toro Loco feeling fully satisfied and pretty happy getting to know some lovely people. Highly...
Read more3.5 One for two. First visit was absolutely amazing. The second visit, while service was still fantastic, the second visit left much to be desired. I'll go for a third visit to see how it fairs. I'm glad to have a new Mexican style restaurant in town that's actually open after I'm able to get there to enjoy it, but I won't keep going if there's a 50/50 so, to be 100% fair I will be going back. I'll change my review and stars according to my next visit. Love the owners, like the location, love the cleanliness of the dining area, mostly good service, I REALLY want to love this place and update with a 5 star review, so my fingers are crossed. To elaborate, first experience tastes were impeccable, plenty of seasoning. Second visit, veggies were slightly undercooked and the seasonings were lacking. Love the texture of the fresh guac, but I needed to add some lime, a touch of salt, and a little heat. I'll be back for...
