JANUARY 24, 2025: Unfortunately, this experience was not what I expected. I was ready to title this review, "🗣 Chipotle, Count Your Days!"
However, the other reviews that spoke of the excessive saltiness were right. I ordered the ropa vieja, cafe con leche and toast. Well, the coffee and toast were delicious! 😆 Can't say the same about the ropa vieja. It was unbearably salty! And I like salt. I eat ropa vieja from the Sergio's restaurant located in the Hialeah Gardens Wal-Mart on Okeechobee Road quote often. There's is delicious and perfectly marinated. You can taste the fresh tomato sauce in it more than anything. Mojo Grill was inedible.
I am very disappointed. Even the rice was bad. I had high hopes for this place. I feel robbed because I spent over $17 on food I could only eat $3 worth of. 😔
I don't think I'll be returning, simply because previous reviews complained about the saltiness and the restaurant has not fixed it. Good luck to everyone else. I'd suggest the coffee and toast only.
JANUARY 25, 2025 So, I tried to give this place another shot this morning and it solidified my decision never to eat here again. What I didn't mention yesterday was that they cut me off when I tried to tell them how I wanted my coffee. Well, they did it again today. 😒 If this is a true Cuban establishment, they should know that everyone takes their coffee differently, with the options of dark, light, sweet or no sugar. Well, they completely ignored me again and did whatever they chose.
Also, the price for my order was ridiculous! I only ordered a large cafe con leche and toast. The cafe was $5.25 and the TINY piece of toast was $2.45. I included pictures of the receipt and food below. I will continue to go to the Chevron gas station on 62nd Street in Hialeah, right across the railroad tracks. They are so sweet and patient. Not to mention you could get a LARGE piece of toast and large coffee for $6. They also remember their customers by name.
So, my son ordered a breakfast wrap. It was excessively greasy. I'm convinced these people don't know how to cook. I'm over it with them. They'll never get another red cent from me. I've tried their lunch AND breakfast. Would not recommend this...
Read moreTried out Mojo Grille in Miami and overall it was a solid experience. I started with the mango smoothie made with mango, banana, and milk and let me tell you it was hands down really good. Ten out of ten. They really did their big one with that one! For lunch I had the ropa vieja bowl. It wasn’t that good, but it was pretty good, it did its job. I do think they were a little skimpy on the meat and honestly they could’ve thrown in another plantain or two. Still, for the price it’s a fair portion. Dessert was the tres leches. I give it a 6/10 too sweet. Now, for the area it’s not that good per se. That said, they’ve got a drive-thru, which I thought was really cool to see, definitely convenient. All in all, I’d come back, especially for that mango smoothie. That alone makes it...
Read moreOn Saturday after doing lots of yard work I wanted to get me some good food to eat. A friend suggested this place. She said it's good food and in the neighborhood. I went and walked up to the windows and was met by Thomas. He was friendly and polite. I ordered the mojo pork with onions, white rice, black beans and a side salad. I also ordered two croquettes. My order to not time at all. I opened the croquettes and bit one. They were so fresh and hot. They tasted homemade. I will ask if they are the next time I go. The portion of my bowl was two servings. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty. I am very please with Mojo Grill. The food and the service are spot on. I definitely recommend this place. Say hi to Thomas...
