The Central Cafe Miami — Restaurant in Miami Springs

I really had very high hopes because the place is so nice when you walk in. The intention is there. But the food was not as great as these reviews are mentioning. Which is unfortunate as I was looking for convenience in the building where I work. I ordered a grilled cheese considering it is safe. It did not taste bad but they served me half of a grilled cheese for $9.50. It was two small pieces of whole grain toast with cheese? Bacon and way too much tomato. My spinach and cheese empanada although was ok was $5. And my coworker ordered a salad that was accompanied by raw chicken. I’ve given this place several try’s because I want to love it, since I work in the building. However, the food is just “ok”. It tastes fine. But the portions are not commensurate with the prices. A 1/2 a grilled cheese, cup of soup and bottle of water is around $21 before tip. On another occasion, I had their chicken special sandwich, and I won’t go as far as another poster who said the chicken was raw, but I will say that it gave me the impression of being undercooked. Was just coming through during a quick Miami visit and it happened to pop up on a map when I searched for coffee. It’s located inside an office building but don’t let that keep you from coming inside! The atmosphere is so welcoming, cozy, and pleasant with incredibly friendly staff and fantastic service.
