EDIT: I posted a glowing 5 star review of this Rooster's 5 years ago while it was in the old location. I've been tempted to update my review a few times since they moved to the new location, but haven't because A) It was a new facility, and B) COVID changed things. So I was willing to let them sort their stuff out for a minute.
But I'm finally done letting this fester. I have one word to describe the wings out of this place. Soggy. Used to be in the old location, you ordered wings, you got these nice, crispy, amazingly breaded behemoth wings. And yes, the wings are still huge. But now you get this paper thin breading that isn't crisp, and is usually disappointingly falling off the wings. It was around the time they started cutting the buffalo chicken pizzas like normal pizzas, so cutting them incorrectly, that all this started. My guess is any of the good cooks left a long time ago due to stagnating wages while working at one of the busiest restaurants in the area. Now all you get is soggy pizzas, soggy wings, and stuff that is greased beyond all reason, not that I was expecting different, but... well at least the greaseball food used to taste good. Now it's just nasty all around.
If you want good Roosters, there's one in Springboro that's close. They still do a good job, and I make the extra 10min drive to avoid this one when I'm craving Roosters anymore.
Old Review:
So, I've been eating here probably at least once every other month since I moved here 5 years ago, never bothered to post a review though. Figured I would today.
First off, the food has always been consistently amazing, but I've been to Rooster's in a few locations, and their food is always the best a greasebucket wings bar has to offer. So saying their food is good is like a no duh. What makes this place an easy 5 star review is the service.
Tonight they really went above and beyond in my opinion. I called for a fairly simple takeout order, and somehow it didn't get entered. So when I arrived 20 minutes later they worked out what happened, and basically said my order would be another 20. Mildly irritating, but there are worse things than surfing the net and checking some email while waiting, and in the grand scheme of things, it's more or less what I've come to expect from my life.
Completely unasked the manager comped my meal, which I honestly would have paid for. I didn't complain at all, more or less said 'okay' with forced cheerfulness and sat down, so when he did walk up and offered the free meal I was totally shocked. I hope in the end no one was docked or in trouble because of it, because I'm far too easygoing for anyone to make that big of a fuss over maybe 15-20 minutes of my worthless time.
Anyways, thanks Rooster's for the free meal, I'll be back soon since my gift card still is unused thanks to this. I love you guys just about as much as my hardening arteries and expanding waistline hates you, but a shorter lifespan is definitely worth...
Read moreWent to lunch at this roosters on 3/22/2025..There were 9 of us total in our party. The food was great and had no complaints from anyone until the bills arrived. A person in our party ordered a regular cheese burger to go after we finished eating. When his bill arrived he noticed they charged him for the Bobs Burger which is about twice the price. The waitress adjusted his bill and instead of just letting him keep the burger she told him it would be a bit longer as she had to reorder his reg cheeseburger and took the order back. Then as my wife and I looked over our bill we noticed she had done the same thing to us. We ordered the cheeseburger and she punched in the Bobs burger instead. Obviously we didn’t receive the bill until after we are finished eating so when we confronted her about the mistake she replied she was sorry and that the buttons were next to each other on her ordering device and she must have hit the wrong button. She asked us if we would like her to adjust the bill and when we replied yes she said “well you already ate it”..Here’s the kicker. We go there a lot and we’ve gotten the burger many times so if we had gotten the much larger Bobs Burger we would have notice it. So it’s apparent that we got the burger we ordered but she insisted we got the Bobs Burger and since we ate it there was nothing she could do. So instead of bickering with her over it we paid our bill and just deducted the difference from her tip!! It seems as she is doing this to inflate the bill since tips are usually paid according to the bill total…Warning to everyone CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE...
Read moreCalled in to order two chicken sandwiches today, the person taking the order even reported my order back to me everything was correct.. drove all the way there to pick up my order and they only have one sandwich I ask about the other one the girl at the register had no clue about it... Fair enough. I asked if they have a system that keeps track of who's taking orders so we can see where the mistake was made, more than likely it was the kitchen because the person taking my order seemed like we were on the same page.. anyhow I decided to order the missing sandwich and I was quoted a 20-30 min wait on it... Wow! So I either sit here and wait another 30 mins for the next sandwich and as a bonus either me or my wife has to eat a cold sandwich (the one they actually made) because surely by the time I would have made it home, the original sandwich would have been cold. On second thought, I decided to cancel the second sandwich because I didn't want to bring a hot one home and have to eat a cold one.. The pleasant young lady at the register had signal the store manager over to cancel the transaction. I explained to her in detail what had happened. Seemed like it went through one ear and out the other, she showed zero concern for what had happened, she didn't apologize for the error on behalf of her staff, she didn't offer any type of concession towards future business, just an overall careless attitude. Makes sense what happened, If the store manager doesn't care, why would...
