I will say everyone is nice but beware you may not get back a working device even if it was working perfectly when you took it in.
I took my pixel 2xl in for battery replacement since it is supposed to be the authorized google repair center. My phone was in perfect working condition, never had any issues except the battery life was getting worse after 3 years.
After replacing the battery, my speakers no longer worked which when I took the phone back they said was a motherboard issue which they couldn't fix. They were helpful though and said they would try something else and reportedly replaced some resistors and got the speaker working again. They handed me the phone and tested the speakers which worked great.
I was very pleased until I left and got into my car and noticed that when I pressed the "home" part of the screen at the bottom a white stripe of dead pixels appeared on the right side of my screen. They were already past closing time so I figure I would come back to resolve it on my next day off. By the next morning, the white stripe was permanently on my screen. When I came back they refused to fix the screen stating that it was fine when they handed me the phone.
Obviously the phone had not been adequately tested before I got it back and now they won't fix it, leaving me with having to get a new phone when this one was working perfectly fine prior to them touching it and now has had speaker and screen issues.
One of the employees told me when I first had the speaker issue that this is common with Pixel devices to have other things break when you bring them in for repair. If this is a known issue, then that should be covered with a repair. What is the point of going to a repair center to have your phone broken? Shouldn't it be fixed, especially considering it's the official google repair provider?
They did provide me with a partial refund for labor but obviously this does not come close to making up for having to either pay to replace a screen or simply buy a new phone.
I called Google about this and they said I can pay for a screen replacement with them or try to work something else out myself with UbreakIfix. I LOVED my pixel phone but this is just inexcusably horrible customer service! Be aware if you take a device in for service you may have to replace your device or pay more to fix extra things they break when they "repair" something and Google won't provide any guarantee for their "official" repair...
Read moreDO NOT BRING YOUR PHONE HERE!! THEY DONT WANT TO WORK AND LIE! I dropped my phone cracking my screen last Wed and knew Id have to go to a ubreakfit so i called a local spot while staying in Ohio at a friends to see if they had my type of screen for a Galaxy s10 plus. They said they dont have the part and would be days to get it if so. I called Asurion sent me back to this place and now all of a sudden says they have part and to drop it off. I left it with them all day and got an email back saying "were ready for you" I went there and the kid behind the desk says" did she call you?" Im like no i dont have a phone. He said the phone is unfixable and to tell verizon. Its the motherboard and they cant help tell verizon not to bring it back here cause they cant fix it.. I asked what about my data can i get it back? he said i dunno call verizon. Something didnt feel right to me. I did the same exact thing to my phone 2 years back bringing it to a ubreakfixit in CT and was fixed within 3 hours. My phone was still getting calls, texts and could even see a flash of my screen with all missed notifications. I called Asurion telling them i want a 2nd opinon cause it just didnt sit right with me so they sent me to a another ubreakfix location in Cincinnati which was 40 min away. I got there and told the lady behind the counter about the miamisburg location and just the vibe wasnt good and didnt trust it.. She told me the miamisburg location is independantly owned and they are still CORPORATELY owned. This started to make alot of sense why they were so shady.Because of the holiday weekend I got my phone back but its fully repaired but had to wait like 4 days to get it back and hours extra of driving since this location straight up lied not wanting to do the work maybe cause of the holiday weekend when i initially went on Thursday. I was tempted to walk into this store and hold up my "UNFIXABLE" phone and say it was fixed at another location but decided ill leave this review here and other places at the BB. Unprofessional and shouldnt be in business treating customers like this..absolutle nonsense and lucky i didnt come back in person what i had to go through since they initially lied to...
Read moreI brought my phone in at Google's recomendation because it kept shutting off randomly. It seemed to mostly happen when the battery was at 20% or less but sometimes happened when it had more charge. I made an appointment for 4pm and dropped it off at 3:50pm. At 10:50am the next day I still hadn't heard anything. I called and they had already diagnosed the issue just hadnt called. They said they thought it was the battery and had one they would try and if that didnt work they would order a new battery (? This concerned me on whether this was an old/ used battery?). They then let us know it wasnt the battery but the motherboard and offered to transfer my data to a new phone for $100. $100 is an astronomical charge to transfer data. I'm horrified for the customers who dont know any better and pay that price. I said no thank you and asked for my phone back. They brought my phone to me in pieces. They proceeded to tell me they had to apply heat to remove the back which caused the battery to swell. When I voiced my displeasure they then back peddled and said "well the battery was already bad, that's why you brought it in." Which makes no sense since they told me the battery wasn't the issue. I voiced my displeasure at coming in with a usable phone and leaving with one in pieces so they offered to tape it together for me. When I got home I found the phone had a notification that it had gotten too hot and had to restart. Which tells me they not only applied too much heat to remove the back and ruined my phone but also applied excessive heat while the phone was on. I honestly wonder if this is what ruined my motherboard. I am highly upset with this interaction and disappointed. While I was there I also overheard the female tech talking to another customer. She did such a poor job of explaining what was going on, i could have done a better job, i was honestly uncomfortable because this poor customer was so confused and upset by the time she was...
