A.C.’s Icees — Restaurant in Miami

The owner's adult son who works in the truck is incredibly rude and hostile. Please read the negative reviews here of his attitude towards their patrons.

Today I arrived to Kennedy with my 3 year old son to take him to the playground- but before going my son wanted an icee. Yes, I know they don't take cash but my son kept insisting (and I forgot my cash at home). I kindly asked the guy in the truck if he can in any way possible accept a venmo/cash app/or zelle. His immediate reaction was extremely hostile: "NO! I can't do that! we have a sign that says cash only! its been up there all day long! don't come here with your kid and try to guilt trip me ok?!"

Sir, I just asked if you would take a different form of payment. You are crazy and aggressive.

The last part is what had me floored: "don't come here with your kid and try to guilt trip me". This is how they treat their patrons? Completely inappropriate, and unnecessary- especially speaking to me like that while I'm holding my sons hand, I actually felt very violated by his hastiness.

The frostys are great. The customer service not so much. The owner is grouchy and rude.

I stopped going over a year ago because of his rudeness, however 8 months pregnant I've been craving the famous lemonade frosty and I decided to give it another shot.

I walk up at 10:15 a , not knowing that he opens at 11. He tells me that he opens at 11am but to wait a minute he will serve me. Then I notice the Sign that reads "11 am until 5pm sometimes earlier , sometimes later ."

8 months pregnant I was happy he was willing to serve me earlier. I waited and waited ...then notice him grabbing a rag to clean his dashboard as I continued waiting . It started drizzling and I continued to patiently wait. 20 minutes later I tried asking , but he did not respond. So I walked away at this point. Feeling a little sad that he didn't even acknowledge that I even waited while it rained for him. A little embarrassed that I even waited while he cleaned his van…

He sucks . 2 thumbs down...

I updated my review as the closing time has changed to 6pm. Yay! ——————A.C’s Icee is the best lemonade hands down! And I’ve traveled the world! Been coming here since I was a kid and now in my 30s so it’s definitely a staple in Miami. The only reason I don’t give it a 5 (and it is 5 stars in taste) is because the owner (one man show) closes strictly at 5pm, no ifs, ands or buts; doesn’t matter that you waited half an hour, you can get to the window and once it’s 5 he closes- in your face! Trust me it’s happened to me like 3 times already...right when it was my turn next! I think at 4:30pm he should give people in the line a ticket or tell people to not form line and waste their time....basically get there early, don’t expect friendly service and be ready to wait but the satisfaction you get from that lemonade supersedes all that and that’s why people (& me) will always go and...
