This is the only lunch option in easy walking distance from my office, so it's unfortunate that I have to write this negative review.
I have no clue what was wrong with service on Friday, January 5th, 2024, but let's just say it was atrocious! I made the line after getting my soda. There was one guy ahead of me. I patiently waited for what seemed like almost 15 minutes, watching these ladies chit chat and turn in circles, stare at me, not greet me when I finally asked if someone could assist me. A lady on the market side was called over. She was sarcastic throughout 🙄 belittling me for choosing sides instead of their platter saying, "You see." I wanted to reply, yes, I see no one here wanted to serve me today!
To make it worse, a heavy set man who looked like a chef and another guy came out and stood there staring at me too! The one guy was scratching his head and his back, looking like he wasn't sure why he came to the front of the house. The other guy pretended to look at his phone and didn't greet me either. I looked at them right back, wondering what is wrong with these people today because my blood sugar was tanking and I wasn't in the mood to beg for service! I thought, are they racist because it's not my first time here, and i just need to order, but these ladies are moving around like chickens and doing nothing!!! The entire front of house and back of house are either racist or were having a peculiar day!!!!! I'll be sure to let my coworkers know about this experience!
I should have clearly read their bad reviews, but I love Kibbeh so much that I will order ahead next time so it's ready to go, and I don't have to deal with their unprofessional and racist employees! It was really shocking to read the many reviews from people who had similar experiences...

You would think that maybe quality has faded over time, that they have "lost their touch" or something... but nope. If anything, due to the rise of crappy restaurants, this place stands out even more today than it did back in '03. Thank God for shawarma and tabouleh!
While going to college I stumbled across the hidden jewel of awesome in Miami. The name: The Original Daily Bread Marketplace. It was strange but it said you could eat there, so I went in. To say my life changed is an understatement. The food was delicious, I think I've had shawarma in about 8 countries and this one always stands out, by a lot, as the best one. Their tabouleh is perfectly balanced between all the flavors and always fresh. The hummus... Good God... If this was supposed to be proof that God exists, everyone would be a believer. The hummus is perfect and the consistency is flawless. I have tried most of the menu but these three are by far my favorite.
Best thing, they sell a lot of stuff so you can take it home and they are open most of the day, every week!!
Overall fantastic. So much so that after being gone from Miami for 7 years the first place I went to eat at when I got back was here.
Funny story. I once took a 6 hour layover so I could taxi here, eat, then head back to catch my...
Read moreIn Miami good food is everywhere, but good service is what sets apart one restaurant from another. The food here is excellent, it always has been. But service has always been a toss up. Today I was standing by the counter on the side for 5-10 minutes while 5-6 staff members chatted away behind the food station, with only one customer they were serving - there was no one else in line. After a while one finally asks me if I was being helped, I was there to pickup an order - she then said it's the wrong counter. At the center counter the service was very different, the gentleman there was excellent and very prompt to assist me with my order. Like I said, it's a toss up on service. But having 5 employees idle talking away while I stand there for a decent amount of time is not good service.
Feedback: -If staff is idle because they're on break, move them to the tables or behind the visible customer area (IF they were on break and not just ignoring me, because they were all looking right at me) -Put a sign somewhere with "Pick Up" so no one has to guess where the pickup spot is. -A simple question if I was being helped would've mitigated an...
