A rare ONE star for my ill-fated adventure of trying a local diner. Service is next to nonexistent and staff do not want to be bothered with a English-speaker (I’m not sure if the service will improve with a native speaker of Spanish, though). Only when I was ready to pay was I pointed to a small handwritten sign that says cash only in Spanish. Luckily I was able to get some cash from a nearby bank: I’d avoid that shady looking ATM machine tugged all the way in the back next to the fire exit. The food is expensive without transparent pricing: it’s more expensive than the menus and you will only find out when they send you the bill. Given that inflation has been going on for almost a year now, one would think that they’d update the greasy worn-out menus! Despite the price, the dishes are mediocre if one’s being generous: the Ceviche is overpowered by sourness and the Mussels Chalaka is tough like rubber. After spending close to $50, I am neither satisfied with the quality nor feeling filled!

I went to this place bc the pharmacy next door recommended it. The cook needs to go find a better place to work. The food was delicious and very flavorful. The service was ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS! The waitress did NOT want to be bothered, didn't want to answer my questions. I had to go to the bar to place my order. Oh but as soon as three men showed up all the waitresses in the establishment started to clean the place and joke with them. I have never left a restaurant without tipping because I feel it's rude bc waiters live off the tips but I'm sure those men are going to tip them more than enough. Oh and as you can see I also posted a picture of the register that had the cards accepted, but when I took my card out to pay I was told only cash or app. So, my question is why not have cash only at the door or at the register. I think they just want to avoid paying taxes. If you go order to go. I won't be

This place is hilarious. Massive portions and good flavors. The seafood and coconut soup was excellent. This restaurant is a hole in the wall with character. Primarily a local bar with music that is far too loud. Every man in here on a Sunday evening knows one another. Family with their 5 yr old and a bucket of beer. The waitresses drink with the patrons, I have a feeling the cooks do as well. Its as if they scooped up a restaurant from the outskirts of a city in central America and placed it here. If want to experience little Havana from 15 years ago.. this is the place. A time capsule worth the story alone.

i went in to order some food to go everything went well I ordered a baleada and asked her what was in it since I have never tried it and wanted to give it a try. She said it had crema, eggs and beans. So I took of the crema then I got it and it had cheese I don’t eat cheese so I went back and asked nicely if they could please remove the cheese because I did not know there was cheese. The same lady told me there was nothing she could do and told me TO SCRAPE IT OFF MYSELF. so I left and realized there was too much cheese i would scrape off everything so I went back asking to speak to a manager because I paid for the food and I did not like the fact that she didn’t let me know there was no cheese. SHE STARTED SCREAMING AND SAYING IF I DIDNT KNOW WHAT WAS IN IT I SHOULD NOT HAVE ORDERED IT. mind you that is why I asked before I ordered what was in it. She kept on screaming as I was trying to talk to the manager. Then all the other ladies started saying that it wasn’t her fault. Basically everyone there I rude and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT GO THERE!!! SO MANY BETTER PLACES TO GO WITH BETTER FOOD AND BETTER...
