I am not one to complain publicly about travel accommodations but I feel compelled to in this particular case. This was one of the most disappointing short term rentals I've stayed in, especially for the price ($325+ incl. taxes and fees per night).
I had a experience as other reviewers in terms of cleanliness - I stayed in Unit 702. The units look great in the pictures but they definitely have wear and tear, aren't that clean, and have some oddities (no ventilation in the bathroom, not being able to open a closet door fully due to furniture in the way, etc.)
Upon entering the unit, it smelled funny, similar to weed. Then noticed the tile/porcelain floors were slick - I had gym shoes on and they slid around on the floor. There was some type of film on the floor.
The bathroom shower did NOT have a shower liner. I only discovered this after taking a shower and having water all over the floor. As mentioned, no ventilation/fan - every time you shower, even with the door open there was condensation on everything.
All the issues listed above were reported numerous times to customer service (which I learned is based in New Orleans...not helpful). They sent a cleaning person who "cleaned" the floors - noticed they were spraying something on the floor that may have been reason for the odd smell. The cleaning person did NOT speak English. They did a terrible job because the unit was still in the same condition when they left. When I called customer service back, they claimed the unit met their cleaning standards and basically told me I was lying about the floors and that the cleaning person cleaned the floors with water, even though I watched them use something else. Also, who "cleans" a floor with only water?
Upon asking for some compensation or to be moved to another unit, Roami refused.
I'm attaching some pictures of the bathroom condition - you can see rust all around the toilet from water/moisture and the lack of a shower liner. It was hard to document the condition of the floors or the smell but believe me, it was not normal.
This was a very uncomfortable stay. I would not stay here again nor will I ever rent another unit from Roami, in any city. Do yourself a favor and avoid...
Read moreBeware - we booked to stay here through Airbnb and the day before our trip there was a hurricane watch issued and our flights were canceled. We had no way of getting to this Airbnb. We reached out to the host (Sextant Stays) for a resolution and they basically would not work to give us a refund and since we booked through Airbnb they also were little to no help.
Airbnb told us to go to the host (Sextant Stays) and then the host told us to to go to Airbnb. So now I'm being put on hold and wasting time for no resolution. This was a weather event, an unforeseen circumstance that we had no control and they wouldn't work to give us our money back or credit the full amount - mind you for a reservation we couldn't make. Airbnb also removed my review on their platform so that is why I am placing it here for visibility. Mind you, our airline tickets and car rental we both credited and/or refunded. This place took our money and did not provide a refund or full credit. I will likely stay at a hotel next time since this business model is slightly sketchy and not customer-centric and a hotel would have no problem with crediting the account for a...
Read moreThe structure and amenities are on point. The consumables provided are ample. The king bed is extremely comfortable. Location is superb. Acceptable level of toad noise. Cleanliness can be improved. Inside washing machine, carpet and sticky bedroom floor in particular were sub standard. Shower curtain rod won't stay up and adjustment mechanism is non functional. There should be a safety rail in the shower. Reduces liability. The issue with this property is that the provider supplies a standard email menu with access codes. The code for garage access and main entrance were wrong. This led to multiple phone calls as we progressed through the building. I have to say the calls were handled by staff who tried. Alternative codes were eventually supplied which worked. Even the apartment door access code failed and was eventually restored. Thus the initial impression was somewhat soured. Had it been smoother and less tedious, the overall impression would have been likely...
