Sooooo we were just driving around the neighborhood looking for Little Havana and was searching to get some Cuban food. But last minute, we just wanted to eat some Mexican food. I was hesitant to even find one because I am VERY picky. I seem to walk out of most Mexican restaurants not that happy. There are so many Mexican restaurants out there that don't make their stuff authentic and don't put much love into the food. I live in Las Vegas, NV and there is not one good Mexican restaurant I recommend. Anyway, we decided to come to La Valentina. We were surprised the restaurant was so tiny. We sat down and ordered mixed fajitas and chicken enchiladas with a mix of green and red sauce. Let me tell ya... The food was outstanding! The salsa was so flavourful and everything just tasted so authentic. The Spanish rice was cooked to perfection and sooo good. The guacamole was the best I ever had. It was perfectly ripped and flavored! When we got there probably about 15 minutes in, it got soooo busy for our waitress. People were standing in line out the door just to sit and eat. Because I felt bad for people waiting, I felt rushed lol. I wish I lived in Miami just to try everything on the menu. If you don't need a nice atmosphere dining experience but want very good authentic Mexican food, I totally recommend coming here. I just hope I don't have to wait for a long time to sit and eat because the restaurant is very tiny. We'll be flying back in July and definitely be back because we can't get this type of food in...

Visiting town to the SF Giants play the Marlins later, and as our air bnb is just down the street, this was a close spot to grab a bite. I ordered the rolled taco plate (comes with rice, beans, and guacamole) and my husband ordered off of the Taco Tuesday menu (pollo, carnitas, chicharrón, nopal, calabacita, costra, and pastor tacos for $1.50). My tacos were decently sized with shredded steak inside. Some pieces looked like they’d been mixed back with larger portions after being put through a salamander or grilled, as some of the internal pieces were crispy burnt. Overall, they were pretty good - I’m not mad. I liked the rice best overall, though the beans vastly improved with some of their red salsa and a squeeze of lime. The sliced onions were a tasty touch, but I do think the beans could have been cooked a bit longer and there were some that were just noticeably underdone. Husband really enjoyed his pastor tacos (“no question better than the carnitas,”) and considered eating a couple more while he waited for me to finish. Taco toppings are self-serve out of a small freezer (pickled red onion, white onions, radishes, etc). There are a few soda and beer options, though I don’t know if I’d recommend basing a visit on the online menu, as it seemed out of date.

I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you’re looking to kill some time before a game. Food is solid, the restaurant is tiny but really, really cute, and there’s...

I only came here because when I went to the Miami River Mexican cuisine store they were closed due to some kitchen issues. The guy came out and sent me over here instead. My daughter and I ordered the chips and guacamole. The guacamole was actually more tasty than at the other store. The one other time I’d gone there the guacamole was bland. The order is pretty big. It’s a lot of guac. We took home leftovers of the guac. I also ordered the Elote. It was very good, except one side was warm and the other side was cold. But the combination of flavors- the lime juice, cheese, cream, and Anjito was delish! For our meals I got the 3 fish tacos on corn tortillas and my daughter got the 3 shrimp tacos on flour tortillas. We both finished all of our tacos. Mine were delicious! I’m not sure what the sauce on the side is. It tasted like a mix of ketchup and mayo?!? But they also put two salsas on the table. The green one is SPICY! The red one is mild. Altogether our meals were about $45. Not bad. Parking is an issue. I didn’t see a parking lot. There are spots right in front of the store. But only a couple. Since we were going there at 3 in the afternoon it was easy for us to get a spot. We were the only people eating in the restaurant. There were a few people who came in to pick up orders. I would come back again if I’m in the area, but this place is pretty far away from...
