I’ve done over 50 reviews in the last 10+ years 45 of them are 5 Stars super positive. I don’t take it lightly to do a negative review because it could hurt the business. Having said that when it’s warranted, I must inform the public. So I had (2) two slices of Spanish omelette The most expensive in Miami, almost $8 dollars apiece $7.99. I’ve always said if it was good, I wouldn’t even mind but the exorbitant price and terrible taste and texture!! this was far less quality or taste that resembles an egg omelette slice with potatoes inside? what it had inside was like cornmeal or something foreign you could not taste the egg at all. Maybe powder egg a tasteless powder texture. Now we’ve all eaten Spanish omelette before and we know what they’re supposed to taste like, you can tell by looking at the photos attached below that this is a grainy substance that honestly I cannot identify. The ham croquettes were mostly bread filling inside & no taste of ham whatsoever. For the premium prices they charge and boasting on quality they are far from it. Almost $20 for a snack of two average size slices of omelette and two croquettes. It’s Highway robbery & 7% sales tax, ok, one percent tourist tax? is that legal? They are not in Coral Gables? And then 4% service charge for a whopping total of 12% on top of their high prices! Yeah, this is price gouging but again if it was good tasted good I wouldn’t mind. FYI Nine (9) blocks east on same sw 8St you have Latin American bakery it’s 10 times better, so please don’t waste your money & time here! I Always before posting I read other reviews there is a lady also with a terrible 1 star experience I’m not alone! Oh, and last but not least only (1) one person behind the counter that it’s also handling a walk up window! the other lady serving is serving tables, took me 20+ minutes...
Read moreFeb.14 me and my husband was looking for a place to have brunch and we try this place for first time thinking that he was a small café and we sat down. It was an actual fusion of Latino and Italian cuisine. The waitresses gave us a warm, welcome and set us down immediately. The music made the environment, so much more romantic; The service was great and all the food came out freshly cooked; Portion size are big enough to share, but we didn’t know and we couldn’t finish our food, Read the corner they have a book area for when you are waiting for your food to arrive. The place is full of wines from all over the world Food camera rather quickly, and the cappuccino order was perfect. I have some scrambled eggs over French toast and house potatoes, which were perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked; my husband, in the other hand had fried eggs and french fries, which also came season sausage and bacon. Our waitress Jessica was taking care of us the whole time making sure that we have water that our food was perfectly cooked and anything that we need issues there for us even the chef came out and access. How was the food and if there’s anything we need that for us service was excellent cleanliness of the restaurant is 10/10; A very welcoming environment and overall a great experience. We will come back again soon To try their lunch menu, the pasta selection...
Read moreI used to love this community gem when it was run and owned by Chef Bianchi, the original owner. The Roma Cafe offers your cuban and Italian pastries and specialties. I typically go for the breakfast served on a wooden board or the sandwiches for lunch that are very solid. Unfortunately my past three or four experiences at Roma. I received really poor customer service. They need to better train the people running the pastry counter and at the front they are very slow and don’t smile. They also never acknowledge customers that are waiting in line and sometimes it is hard to know whether they will even take your order. This morning I called twice to order four Cuban toasts and a big box of Croquetas. The first time I was placed on hold for three minutes while I could hear them laughing and joking in the background. I hung up and called back after the three minutes and asked to please not be placed on hold and she immediately just started speaking to someone else. It’s very much to defeat the purpose of calling ahead to have your order ready when you are in a rush. I understand these things happen but the last few times I’ve been there. The customer service experience has always been bad. Probably will not be coming back which is a shame as it is a cool place and important part of the...
