Coffee n' Cream — Restaurant in Micanopy

Very nice place to relax and enjoy coffee. The food is exceptional. You can get a pj sandwhich, chicken salad, garden salad, ice cream, homemade breads, beer and wine. For dessert they have fudge, homemade cookies and brownies. Specials each day, my favorite is dumplings on Thursdays. Another great item is grits. Bathroom is clean and stocked. The employees treat you like family, Annie, Shelly, Brady and Dori.and acasionaly Mariah, (Dori's daughter). She is very special, always a nice smile and makes you feel welcome.. They are wonderful!!! Enjoy the live music on the porch as well. The owner, Kelly is very nice and always makes me laugh. Don't forget their specialty coffee and my favorite, is their traditional good old steaming hot coffee brewed fresh all day long. My first visit and the staff and service was excellent as will as the food. That being said, while eating our lunch an older gentleman came in with his dog. Not on a leach but caring it in his arms. He placed the dog on the counter to pay for his take out. Not one staff member said anything to him. He seemed to be a regular customer. Had I not already been dining, and was behind him, I would have walked out, without ordering. I love my dogs but do not eat where their bottoms have been. Great little cafe in the historic town of Micanopy. Serves sandwiches, ice cream, homemade desserts,soups, salads and wine. Also have locally produced jellies, jams & sauces.Has indoor and outdoor seating with occasional music outside on deck. Parking available but on a crowded weekend you may have to take a short stroll from your car. This is not a problem usually because there are antique furniture, stained glass, local furniture builders, music, book & museum shops everywhere to look in.
