Rios Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Michigan City

I'm a connoisseur of ethnic foods & a cook for over 60yrs.First time here. I ordered 3 tacos, spicy pork, chipotle chicken & steak. $3.75 EACH total $11.25. A side of quacommole $1.25 & rice & beans half & half $3.00. The tacos came with lettuce, tomato & cilantro. Way too much cilantro tasted like soap. The meat in all 3 tacos was seasoned but very dry . No juice. There was hardly any cheese on them either. The homemade rice was good and so were the beans.The guacamole was tasteless . No spices tomatos or onions in it. $1.25 for 2 tablespoons of pureed avocado. Tacos over priced foe what u had in them. $3 a piece would of been good or either 3 for $10.The best was the rice & beans. Meat too dry & way too much Cilantro. Guacamole was awful for sure. Meal was Pricey but lacks quality unfortunately. El Canterito in MC is far better and a bit pricey but the quality of food is way better. As far as the atmosphere looked like there was outside seating. Opening the window of the drive thru to pay &; receive food it looked like it needed a good scrubbing in there and I could see that from my car. The ladies at the window were nice but all in all I won't be ordering again from them. Of all the Mexican Restaurants I've visited. El Canterito in MC, Chesterton & Laporte have much better quality of food even though it's a bit pricey and their restaurants are very clean. I give these folks 3 stars but 5 stars keep popping up. Rios please get your stuff together! Customer service is going downhill. They have a “manager” at the MC location names “Gee” that is horrible with customer service and has an attitude. I asked for 2 extra sauces for my nacho bowl today and she said that it would be an extra .50!! (It is NOT posted anywhere, and she admitted it). I said could you please give me full cups, and she said “we don’t fill them up because it is hard to put the lid on!!” 🤯🤔 WOW!! So, what you are saying is that you want me to pay an extra .50 for double air. Smdh She would not give me contact information of the owner, she said to go to Yelp and write a review. SMH If anyone knows the owner of Rios at the MC location, please let me know and if you know her real name please let me know as well. Please inbox me. I would like to speak with the owner personally. Horrible customer service can kill a business. I am pretty sure the owner worked very hard to build his/ her business and would like to keep it in good standing.

Note: this is not the first time I have had a poor customer service encounter with her. About a month or so ago I waited patiently outside in the cold for her to walk over and take my order. I waited for about 10 min. The whole time she keeps looking at me and ignoring me. Giving this place a 1 star and I've never been here. So, let me clarify I was at work and called the number thats online. The phone rang and rang and it took me to a voicemail that said was full and I got disconnected. I called again a minute or two later and someone answered the phone the second time I called. The girl who answered the phone was rude and didn't give me a time as to when my food would be ready. So I texted my husband the address of the location because he was the one that was picking up the food for me. I figured giving the place 15-20 minutes would be enough time to prepare the food and be ready for my husband to pick up. Well I was wrong.
