First let me say if say If I could give this a 0 star rating I would. Secondly the food is absolutely atrocious, and the waitress we had with the short blonde from a bottle hair waitress, is just about as horrible as the food. I ordered nachos and they were dry as could be, my gf ordered the chori-pollo which has absolutely no flavor at all (mayo is spicier) we also ordered street corn which had a gallon of mayo in it and salty as could be. when I asked for my nachos to be taken off the bill she decided to cop an attitude and get pissed off and said "so what do you want me to do" I said I'd like you to take the nachos off the bill as I cannot and will not eat them. She snatches the plate from the table cussing in Spanish back to the kitchen. She then returns and throws our bill on the table, yet again cussing in Spanish as she turns and walks off. I'm high tempered and this woman set me off to no end, however I didn't say anything to her to prevent things from escalating. Absolutely the worst food and atmosphere in any restaurant to date. Of course no tip was left due to her attitude and I'm sure we were cussed out for that too. I'd recommend going elsewhere if you want mexican food, taco bell is higher quality and contains less attitude (all while doing the same to your insides) absolutely horrible food and atrocious...
Read moreAs a frequent traveler I have certainly had my fair share of mexican cuisine but to put it simply El Cajete is the BEST I have EVER had!
I knew I was in for a treat when the chips and salsa came out and the chips were still hot so I decided to splurge and ordered the large queso and boy was I glad I did! The warm queso cheese dip, although not as thick as some, was a perfect blend of melted white cheese seasoned with just a light touch (I think!) of chili peppers and complimented the warm tortilla chips perfectly.
Since I was new to El Cajete I asked my courteous and attentive server for her recommendations. She politely suggested the namesake, El Cajete, which she described as a four meat blend of shrimp chicken, steak and beef served in a sizzling bowl, accented with edible cactus, and side plate with all you could hope for including refried beans, rice, fresh guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and a small dab of pinco del gallo.
Finally after basking in the bliss of what can only be described as "Mexican love in a bowl" my server optimistically recommended a few other dishes that were her favorites and suggested that I could take them to go for later. To which I politely declined but I assured her that I would definitely...
Read moreTerrible service and very rude. My first visit, I was with my husband and had to wait a long time for our food. Then, mines was overcooked. The 2nd time, I ordered a torta the woman who was short with black hair wrapped up between the ages of 30 and 60 got my order wrong and I'm not sure what they gave me and they added jalapenos and had no meat at all. When I took it back, I had to wait a while for the lady in the back to come to the counter because she was occupied eating. I told her I just wanted a refund and she tried to tell me I got my order wrong while chewing rudely, she kept trying to make me another sandwich, she didn't want to refund me my money, I had to get rude with her and loud due to her ignorance, and she didn't give me all my change. I didn't like she kept testing my intelligence and showed no compassion about her mistake. She shouldn't be working there if all she wants to do is eat and just chat with certain individuals. Not good for service as well as business. She should...
