China One — Restaurant in Michigan City

I do not recommend this restaurant, especially if you have a larger size order. The first time I went in, I ordered $67 in food, of which was missing a large shrimp fried rice and a small white rice. I do not live in the area so I called and let them know what I was missing. The next time I went in I ordered, over $60 again, informed them that the last time I did not receive my full order. The cashier then asked me to write down what I did not receive and he would call the manager. As we are waiting more people came in, they were getting their orders before myself and another man. Then finally my order was up and again, they almost forgot part of my order AGAIN....then the cashier informed me that they could not replace my items I was missing because my name was not in the book. I was angered by this and frustrated at this point and another customer standing there told me they did the same thing to her, missing food out of her order. I found this to be very unprofessional and I was cheated out of my money. The cashier was very apologetic but this did not remedy the problem. We were very excited to try a new ( new for us) Chinese restaurant. We are completely disappointed. The General Tsos chicken was so salty.... It was inedible. I brought the uneaten combo meal back to speak with the owner. He was very unpleasant. He told me I can't just have my money back because I don't like their food. It seems as if the sauce reduced too much and became very very salty. He was not apologetic.... He told me to go elsewhere. I gave them 1 star because zero wasn't an option. I told him I would happily pay his food cost, but I would like the rest of my money back. It was an argument. He finally gave me 50% back as to shut me up. We could not even choke down the food. Please save your time and money... And go elsewhere. In addition, the place smells disgusting when you walk in and you can tell they don't care what the place looks like. Makes me wonder.... Everyone in my neighborhood loves this restaurant I've been going there for years the gentleman that works behind the counter I saw when he started working there was a child that's how long we patrons have been patronizing China One ...? why because the food is very fresh compared to other Chinese take-outs and they have a variety of selections that other places have but it seems like their food is much better ...anyone that's been to various Chinese restaurants will tell you the same thing I like to get the jumbo shrimp which comes with onions and a great sauce some people love the broccoli and steak the egg rolls are fresh whatever you order you'll be happy and the prices are fair and while you're waiting if you get yours to go you can have some hot tea and read the local paper and watch the world go...
