I was with a few teammates and just as I was getting out of my friend's vehicle to go to Middlebury's Best, a customer of theirs (who looked to be already under the influence to me) walked out of the store with his friend and alcohol in their hands. The intoxicated friend misgendered me, and when I corrected him, he mocked me and called me the N-word (hard-ER) in front of my white teammates. We were just trying to get a sweet treat after having a team dinner. I felt disrespected, and they felt so bad and uncomfortable that they didn't know what to do. The next day, I went to follow up on the footage to file a police report, but they were too busy attending to business matters (there were no customers in the store). The owners hire workers to sell to a racist already under the influence, and then, when they can help, they want to turn a blind eye. This is one of the many bad experiences I have had since I was 16, but for my friends to witness it, try and help get justice, and basically, they threw their hands up I personally wouldn't want to support or spend my money at a liquor store in Middlebury like that. I understand that we all have our opinions and own views on certain races, sexuality, and whatnot, but the world would be better if you just kept your mouth shut when it comes to it.
